I am new to the forum and I wanted to say "Hello". I am a long time "vette" fanatic. :)....I started in 1968 with a 66 Conv. This was the best and toughest automobile I ever owned. Unfortunately my wild youth and too much whiskey totaled it one night in an Arkansas cotton field. I replaced it with a new 71 LT1 Coupe. Marriage and kids put an end to this one. Now after a work career and raising a family I have returned to an old passion. I recently bought a 2004 Silver Coupe. Since I had been out of the "vette" loop for many years I used the good info on CAC to help me make this choice. I remember the "wave", it was part of my prior Corvette experience. I will do my part to keep that tradition alive.

Congratulations on getting back in, and welcome to the :CAC

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I am back to my first love now, Cars. I started with a flat head Ford, then a Y-block Ford before a long affair with Small Block Chevies and BorgWarner T-10 4-sp trannies. The Corvette was the ultimate experience for a gear jammer. I haven't learned exactly what to do with the two extra gears yet in this 6-sp trans. :L

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the old BorgWarner what we use to refer to as the Rock Crusher Transmission? :Steer

Could be! I kept breaking the T-10 transmission synchronizer rings in a 390 cu. in. '63 Ford Galaxie 500. It just couldn't take the speed shifting. I never had a problem with the 4-sp in my Vettes. But I tore apart the T-10 too many times.:ugh
