I just ordered a new TRW 340 performance spring for my car.
Just wondering if anyone has this spring installed in their cars, and what their thoughts are?
I was told they're the perfect combination for ride/performance.
Thanks in advance.

Did you get new shocks too? The composite springs require shocks with much stronger rebound damping due to the lack of interleaf friction; if you don't change the shocks, the "bouncy-bouncy" syndrome will drive you crazy. :)

Didn't order shocks.

As I said earlier, I haven't ordered shocks yet, but I'm probably going to order/buy shocks this weekend or early next week. Somebody recommended I go with the Delco gas shocks, but Koni and Bilstien were also high on the list.

Anyone have experience or suggestions regarding these brands?

I've got the Delco gas shocks and the TRW spring. (There were three levels as I recall and I don't remember which one I have). They are a good combination.

Thanks for sharing. I'm leaning towards the Delco myself. I bought the TRW 340 (formerly 330) since I was told it was the best spring as far as ride and performance.

The choice is up to you, but I've read accounts which recommend gas shocks with the fiberglass springs.

:)

Vette Brakes & Products has rear shocks specifically valved for heavy rebound damping for the composite springs; Delco shocks won't be valved that way unless they're specifically listed ONLY for the '80-'82 application.

Anyone have experience or suggestions regarding these brands?

I have the Bilstein Sports with the VB&P "Gymkhana" 550 lbs/inch coil springs. They recommended this combination and it works great.

I ended up going with the Delco shocks and coil springs from Moog.

Got my car out of storage today and the back end is MUCH higher with the new rear spring. There wasn't a noticable difference in ride, but the @$$ end looks so much better - one side was a little bit higher than the other before the new spring.
It really felt good to have the car back. You forget how nice they are, and how much fun they are to drive.
