Question: replace my "91" L98 motor with a "96" LT1

I have a question Regarding my 1991 Vert. I am considering a direct replacement of the exsisting factory "91" L98 engine, with a New "96" LT-1 GM Long block crate motor. What are the major differences that I will need to be aware of The LT-1 comes from GM with the Fuel Rails, and Plenum already, but needs all the Electrical components. and the waterpump. Does anyone have a technical list of compatible parts from the L98 motor to be used on this LT-1 motor. How about compatibility with the ECM, and wiring hook ups in general. What additional parts will need to be considered for this to work????

the LT-1 is a reverse cool system the whole cooling system is different. The electronics are completely different between the two l-98 is batch fire the LT1 is sequential. Anything could be done given enough time and money best thing is to find a doner car with all the small parts still on it.
my $.02 rebuild the l-98 go to 383 cubes and be done with it.

This LT-1 motor is available to me for NO MONEY.
I just figured if it was something that was done succesfully before, then I would give it a try also.

the gen 2 LT-1 is the small block version of a red-headed step child

get it for free; sell it on E-bay and use the money for a rebuild.

Oh don't get us wrong,"It Can Be Done"!!!! But by the time you invest the time and $$ to change all the things that are different,you can rebuild yours or get a L98 long block and be on the road Cruz-en in 1/10th the time!!
