Hi Don, thanks, I appreciate it. I have heard stories of disconnecting a-arms, end links, compressing springs, etc. I was a mechanic for years, and don"t have a problem with all that, just don't want to have to disassemble my car to accomplish this mod. Looking foreward to some before and after pics, and your comments. mark. remember the wave:w!

I just had my vette lowered today. I love it, scrapes sometimes though;)

Thanks Don, sounds simple enough. You sure eased my mind on a few things. Are your tires and wheels of stock sizes? I want to "fill" up the wheel opening without making it look "ghetto" if you know what I mean. Thanks. mark

I still haven't done the lowering yet. Was planning on it this past weekend but the weather (107 Degrees) here in Arizona changed my mind. This weekend is grandchild graduation so its out. Maybe in June, again depending on temps.

Opps, sorry. As far as tires and wheels go they are stock sizes but my car is a Z06 so there is some wheel and tires size differences. Mine are 265/40 17 front and 295/25 18 rear.

I hear ya on the weather, It was well over 100 here this weekend. Didn't even go anywhere that I didn't absolutely have to. A 25 series on the rear? I bet when you run over a dime, You can tell if it is heads or tails:boogie. I definitly don't want to ruin the look of my car, by having the tires and wheels look "too small" in the wheelwell. mark

I just lowered my Vette a few days ago on stock bolts but i find i'm still not getting the desired effect, at least in the rear.

I left 2 threads showing on the rear bolts, would it be unhealthy for the car if i left no threads showing? I was going to realign but i figured if i have to realign every time i adjust the bolts, id better make sure i get it the way i want right now before i have to pay to align twice.

I just ordered a lowering bolt kit from Zip Corvettes yesterday. Should be here in a few days. Was only about forty bucks, and should give me the effect that I desire. I wanted the PFADT's, but can think of a lot of things two grand can do to my car. I'll post some pics. Thanks.mark

I hear that a set of hardware store bolts are just as good as anything else. I think ill look there first before paying $40 :ohnoes Ill keep that extra cash to buy a few litres of gas haha.

In any case... i'm not sure ill lower the car much more for fear of straining the stock shocks. I think im going to leave no threads showing on the rear and leave the front bushings intact.

I lowered mine too on the stock bolts and left no threads showing on the rears bolts. On the fronts I turned the bolts until there was nothing left. I, too, am afraid of blowing out the shocks if I drop it too much.

The kit that I ordered comes with hardened bolts for the front and rear. I don't think that your local h'ware store would have the fronts for a C5, as they are a wierd design. It also comes with a thin bushing so that the spring doesn't beat the hell out of the lower control arms. It is worth it to me since I have to sperate the front suspension to install the aftermarket bolts, to have everything to do the job the first time. I don't want to slam it to the ground, just fill up the wheel openings. I have seen the 4x4 vette' look, although my car isn't that bad, it needs to come down.

Yea its probably a good call on the front bushings, they are so tough to get to i wont even bother to try getting in there with a knife.

Ill drop the rear a bit more, and that will be it. It's not worth going so low and having to buy new suspension.

Thanks for the feedback. :upthumbs

Thank You! I asked the question mainly out of curiosity. I had my mind set on lowering my car anyway. I just wanted to look at it from all angles before I did it. Thanks again for your input. mark

Hi Remo,
I admit it certainly looks good. However, isn't that the air dam sitting on the road - how do you drive it like that?
