What kind of computer do I need to re-program my ECM? I want to purchase a hypertech chip and adjust some things like cooling fan temp and speed limiter. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

howdy,
i was freeked out when i discovered my temp guage was reading 220...
not knowing the normalicy of this i repaired the system with an adjustable thermostat....and new sensor to the core...
then added water wetter...
lol
after a few trips around the block..and at a few gas stations..i adjusted the fan to come on just as the thermostat opens...
and on another thread, we picked apart the hyperetech chip ..
the majority, like 90% think the chip is fluff.
