31 mpg...unexpected but really nice!!!

Not that it matters how much a real a muscle car drinks, but I've got to ask you guy's and gal's out there what your Vette MPG is?

I just got back from a 1500 mile round trip from Phoenix, Arizona to Salt Lake City, Utah in my 2008 Corvette Coupe. I went through some flat terraine and of coarse ups and downs through the mountains too. Still, my MPG averaged out to 31PMG.

Anyone else experiencing similar happy results?

Oh, and I didn't drive like a grandma either!

Mine isn't a C6 it's a 03 C5 Z-51 6 sp but I was really surprised with it when it was new it would get 30-32 consistently on a trip with no problems!!
Now that it is broken in with well over 50,000 miles it's not uncommon for it to do 35-36,and I run most of the time Chevron 87 oct regular!! I try not to run any 10% ethanol fuel if I can help it, my mileage drops 3-5 mpg!Not to mention my gas gauge will start to act up within a few hundred miles,and I have to dump a bottle of Techron Plus in it to make it straiten up!!

speak'in of run'in 87 octane with 10% ethanol ...over at bobistheoilguy.com they swear run'in marvel mystery oil at 2oz. per 5 gallons will negate the effects of ethanol !! maybe someone can weigh in..i tried it on my wife's z28 with no noticeable negative effects..engine seemed to like it.

Sure they do. Trade in your daily driver. Put the $4,500.00 on a new 2010 C6!

To the original question, I have hit 29 - 30 mpg on road trips in my C6. I could probably do better, but all the states on the West Coast put at least 10% ethanol in their gas.

Anyway, I routinely get in the high 20s and low 30s. All the gas around here also has the 10% stuff!!

1998 C5 6spd, 30-32 mpg consistently over mountain passes. Your cake and eat it too with these vehicles.

I never had any problems with FL gas when I lived there and would routinely get 30mpg on trips. Now that I'm in the NE most everything around here has 10% ethanol and kills my mileage. I need to search for a Chevron station or something to get away from this Ethanol crap.

Sorry Dude,In Florida now even Chevron is putting it in the fuel!! I was just down there last week and couldn't find 1 station that had 100% real gas!!:eyerole:eyerole:eyerole

That sucks. I think the Chevrons here in SE PA are Ethanol free but there just aren't that many stations around.

Having done a two-day road trip from Colorado up to Washington State (a coastal town a bit north of Seattle), even with the A/C running all the time, my average gas mileage was 30.3 MPG. Of course, I should mention that my route took me through portions of Oregon and Washington where the posted speed limit is rather ruthlessly enforced in rural areas, so I wasn't going WOT.

The Vette is a 'closet' ecomony car. My wife routinely gets 21 in town and 31 on the highway with her '06 A6 and my '08 M6 isn't that far behind. Pretty cool.

I've been tossing around getting rid of the Vette for another car to use as a daily driver but the fuel economy and fun-meter combo of the Vette make it hard to replace.
