Question: Do I really need to wax my 2008 Corvette

Do I really need to wax my 2008 Corvette and can I wash it too many times.

I live in Arizona...a very dusty place and detailing my Corvette can be very frustrating when most of the time it ends up dusty just after a washing.

Wax or similar products minimize the paint fade especially in sunny areas. It also makes it easier to wash each time and keeps bugs from sticking too hard.

It's your car and your call but I'd wax the car.

I have a 2001 pickup(165,000 miles) that gets washed twice a year with pink stuff .Never been waxed since I've owned it .BUT ,it's not Crystal red

I think in Arizona where it's hot I'd use ice,liquid glass ,Adams or Zanio .Wax on red is going to melt some and possibly be counter productive.

I would not use a California Duster (look at the dust on it after using it) and you can imagine what it will do to paint (cause swirls and light scratches). I think you need to use a quality wax like Zaino or C-Magic which bond due to the chemicial reactions when applied and deminish dust accumulation. The C-Magic car wash liquid also contains 30% wax so that you are reapplying it when you wash the car. It is really great stuff.
