yup..but what you dont see is the tiny bubbles..from the years of salt water exposure..and the dozens of scratches/parking lot dings/and permanent bird crap..stains...
but..i keep it kleen and when its rollin it looks fine..
i like the look of your ride..:beer

When I owned my '92 with the stock engine, I had a Hypertech Thermomaster chip in it. It did 2 things for me that I wanted: 1) it bypassed the CAGS programming so I didn't have to worry about the 1-4 shift lockout and I didn't have to buy a separate bypass plug; and 2) it allowed me to run a 160 degree thermostat and it reprogrammed the cooling fan turn-on temperatures lower. I liked that.

Since I did not dyno the car before and after, I can't say anything about whether I gained any real horsepower.

If you use a Thermomaster, you'll want to install the lower temp thermostat to make the thermostat work with with (rather than against) the cooling fans.
If you have an auto, you will not see the CAGS bypass feather.

i have an adjustable thermostat on my cooling fan..the aux fan works normally
what about the change in timing..or the air fuel mis under full throttle..?

As vetteoz mentioned, the Hypertech chips are generally considered a waste of money. I installed the chip in my old '93 back in 1993 before I knew any better. When I owned a '96 with the LT4, I left it alone except to install the CAGS bypass and I got used to the higher temperatures that LT1/4 cars consider normal.

When I had my '92 modified with new heads, intake and cam; I had a custom chip made that actually did the motor some good.

Basically, save your money for other stuff might be the best advice.

Too generic ;
one size fits all which may or may not work for your combo.
As noted you are better to spend a little extra and get a custom chip doing exactly what you need / want.
Can get the fans to operate at temp of your choice :thumb
Change TCC lockup revs /disable VATS / etc. Anything that is on the stock program can be reset.

It is pretty easy to get setup to burn your own tunes. I have been doing it a while now for my brother and I. I am not exactly familiar with the LT-1 stuff, but I think they are better than the L98 ECM's. Changing constants is pretty easy (fan temps). Now getting into actual tuning, will require years to be proficient. I have been at it for a while and feel I have barely scratched the surface.

Get a chip burned for your application or get it dyno tuned. Anything else is in the same category as the Hyperjunk.

it seems the more things change...the more they stay the same...
horse power has never been easy and its hard to stay ahead of the curve..
but these days it seems all it takes is money..
i miss the experimental 60's...when everyone tried different stuf..and some of it actually worked..
im stayin stock
except for the intake and maybe the exhaust..and probably the ignition and maybe a bigger throttle body..but thats all ...im stayin stock...go..lol:lou:lou

I got one in my 1992, I consider it a must but I respect the ideas others share. Mine stays real cool, and cool makes my 150K mile car make it to 200k :) My next chip will be for my 396....
