    Question: Run Flat Balance

Run-Flat Balance Well, I've had several balance jobs with the newest Hunter road force balance machines. Some are good others are not. Admittedly, a lot depends on the technician but these machines are designed to be reasonably error proof. Then I ran into an engineer from Bowling Green who...

    Head Light Upgrade

It's not that easy. You will need a European set-up with new housings and electrical relays to really do it properly. Just adding bulbs won't work. I'm sure others will chime in to give you some links.

    A4 Shift Points

Nope, that wasn't it. Maybe I should take it to MTI for a tune.

    A4 Shift Points

That is an excellent point! I hadn't thought of that. Some time ago I did buy a "premium" floor mat set ... it's much thicker than standard. I'll check it out. Thanks

Sorry about the long delay. There are no powertrain codes. These are all that came up: 60-IPC...B0516H; 99-HVAC...B0367H; A6-SCM...B2605H. It's a 2004 with less than 9,000 miles. Thanks

    A4 Shift Points

I'm in "D", which I assume would be top gear and the rpms are under 2k or so, as far as I can remember. That's why I am surprised I don't get a "kick-down". At a slightly slower speed, it does "kick-down" to a lower gear, revs to about 6k and then up-shifts.

When going about 75 mph and I floor the throttle, I don't get a downshift and the accleration seems a bit slow for a Vette. I have a 2004 with the 3.15 ratio. I thought I would see a downshift up to around 95 or so. Am I dreaming? Thanks

    Quick Reply

No, there is no check mark when the quick reply box appears briefly. I guess I'll use your method and not use the quick reply feature. Thank you for your response.

    Quick Reply

When I try to post a quick reply, the quick reply box comes up for a second and then goes to the reply with quotes format. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This situation did not always exist and I haven't made any changes as far as I know.

    Convertible rear wind deflector

I've got one, the newest clear acrylic NetVette. It seems to work ... somewhat. I'm tall and it does limit the seat tilt somewhat. I've used it twice; probably wouldn't buy it now mainly because of the seat interference, but this is only a factor for the tall folks.

    Grounding on 2004 C5

The indicator finally went green sometime last night, so it's now on maintenance charge. Evidently, the charge state was lower than I thought, even though the dealership charged it for 3 hours and was satisfied with the readings they had taken. My confidence level is higher now that I won't have...

    Grounding on 2004 C5

When it first started, the maintenance green light was on and the charge light was blinking. That went on for a while, then I unplugged and plugged the unit from the wall socket, checked the connections and from that time last night at about 7 p.m. until now the charge light has been on. I did...

    Grounding on 2004 C5

Thank you. By the way, the battery failure was the morning after the dealership replaced a heated O2 sensor. I wondered if there might be any connection. The next day they said the battery was low on charge, they put the battery on low charge for 3 hours and then the battery tested good at...

    Grounding on 2004 C5

Hi gang, after a dead battery experience, I now have a CTEK charger. What's the best place for the negative ground for the charger? I did notice some small bolts, maybe for a eyelet on the battery terminals when I had to jump start the car. Are these usable if I want to permanently mount the...
