I had sourced MR shocks direct from the Chevy Dealership in Layton, Utah. P/N#19302787, Cost was $810.00ea excluding tax. Cost for both shocks would have been $1746.00 with tax. Contacted a shop for the install and was quoted $310.00 to replace both front shocks. Total cost for MR replacement...
Hi Everyone,
Is it difficult to replace the front magnetic ride shocks on my 2003 C5 Vette? I see that there is fluid escaping from the shock and the ride has become very hard. Nothing in the DIC Codes states that there is an electrical issue so I am of the opinion that it is only the shocks...
Hi Everyone,
I am having an issue with my 2003 Coupe, 50,000 miles. The dash lights will not turn off and there is a security light warning on the dash. I have locked the car normally with the fob. Headlights turn off and the stick switch is in the off position. This is draining my battery.
Any...
The wine is deeper than you have described. It sounds like it is coming from the rear of the motor if I take a stethoscope and listen as close to the rear as I can get. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.
By putting a light on it, are you referring to a timing light? I put that in series with plug #1? Been nearly 30 years that I have used a timing light. These high tech cars??? :D:D I will try that this weekend and report back. Thank you for the comments.
I have a 2003 coupe, done 46000 miles. For a while I have noticed that when the vette is stationary, in neutral, and I rev the motor very slowly, there is a vibration felt which develops around 1300RPM and continues till 1800RPM then seems to smooth out. I also notice that this is the same RPM...
That is absolutely disgusting. To think that that Vette once stood proudly on the delivery ramp at Bowling Green !!!! That guy does not deserve an American Icon:mad
This issue may occur when you still have 6 or so gallons in the tank. The sensors need to be replaced as per quote; there are two tanks, one behind each seat. The DIC codes will tell you which sensor, left, right or both, need to be replaced. This occurs when inferior grade fuel is used or fuel...
I had the same issue, it was definitely the battery. Replaced the battery, HUD was stable. I have since fitted a battery disconnect for winter, see how that goes.

Thank you Huskerman. If after installing the OEM MAF there are no further issues, I will clean out the Granatelli MAF and reinstall it just for the test. Any thought on what I can use to clean the MAF as it seems to be very fragile and I don't want to "screw it up" any further.
I have had the Granatelli MAF installed since 03 BUT, here is an issue. When I first installed it the vette would constantly surge if I had it in cruise and was doing 50 to 60 MPH. This issue has caused some damage to my vette as there is a "whine" at 1500RPM and it is not coming from the rear...
