    Tow Hooks

I want to know what you all are doing re: tow hooks on the C5's. There are none. So how does one pull your Corvette up onto a flatbed? I've seen the Pfadt tow hooks but would rather have a removable "eye tow hook". Has anyone added anything like this to their car? I think an ideal...

    Modding a C5

This may make a few cringe, but I'm a fan of those bolt-on flares that you see on Porsche (RWB), Lambo's, Ferrari's. I'm throwing around the idea of finding a set that compliments the C5 and having them installed on my 03 Z06 along with wider wheels, different tire size, etc. I've seen C7's...

Turn signal / running light bulb replacement

You can access the turn signal bulb by going through the brake vent opening. You'll have to push the vent tubing away from the opening and push it down. Reach in and up and you'll feel the bulbs. Grab the bulb socket and twist to remove. You should have enough wire to pull the burnt bulb out...

    Driver Information Center (DIC)

After checking all of the connections relating to fuel/emissions, checking for vacuum leaks, and cleaning the MAF again I found everything to be in working order. I took another all freeway drive today, 114 miles, and only got 22.3 mpg while traveling between 68-70 mph. I had talked to a few...

    Driver Information Center (DIC)

I used a can of MAF cleaner on it. Maybe another blast of spray wouldn't hurt. Besides, it gives this retired guy something to do. I really like the C7's but I like the looks/lines of the C5 much more. Well, the weekend is almost over. I'll get on to cleaning the MAF again tomorrow and let...

    Driver Information Center (DIC)

Yeah, the quip about getting a C7 is just from the frustration. The only recent code thrown was for the #2 air check valve located behind the intake. I think I remedied that by spraying carb/injector cleaner into it. The "CHECK ENGINE" light has not come back on since then. This was a couple...

Thanks for the fast response. I'll make an app't with the dealer tomorrow to get it checked out. I don't have a scanner, just a code reader.

    Driver Information Center (DIC)

I have 40,000 miles on the car. The 02 sensors have never been replaced. The dealership said everything on the car is working as it should. Could the 02 sensors malfunction without causing a code to spring up? Checked the DIC this morning and the FUEL "Range" seems to have been resolved...

    Driver Information Center (DIC)

This has been done. Removed the NEG cable from battery for 10 mins the other day. Everything still the same. With the price of gas in CA this is getting a bit out of hand. Maybe it's time to trade it in for a new C7 Z06. Going to go back through all my receipts and see what I could have...

    Driver Information Center (DIC)

Recently when I push on "FUEL" and scroll to "RANGE" it will show incorrect info, ie: 36 miles, when I have a full tank of gas. When I'm driving, I can see the "RANGE" start to increase its miles. If this function of the DIC is malfunctioning, can any other function using the "FUEL" button...

    Help! Very low gas mileage

The service technician said "I could find nothing wrong with your car. I ran all the tests I could and everything is as good as the day it came off the assembly line". He said he drove the car on the freeway "...at 55 mph in 6th gear and the dash was reading 27.5 mpg. At 68 mph it read 31.3...

    Help! Very low gas mileage

Did that and replaced the PCV while I was at it. :thumb I looked for vacuum leaks, cleaned the MAF (3 times), replaced the Vortex "Rammer" air box with the OEM one, cleaned the K&N filter (twice), check valves checked, and even looked for the Fuel Volume Regulator (couldn't find it...;LOL)...

    Help! Very low gas mileage

That's one of the things that worries me about having someone else try to track down the problem. If I were to do it, I would know if the replacement of parts was necessary and not just a hit-and-miss operation. Hopefully the dealer service center will have someone qualified to work on...

    Help! Very low gas mileage

Yep, I've thrown in the towel on this one. I'll keep you posted as to what they find is wrong. Thanks for all the help.

    Help! Very low gas mileage

Ok, Sunday's almost come and gone. I re-cleaned the MAF. Really sprayed the heck out of it. Hoped this would remedy the problem. Also cleaned my K&N filter again. What I noticed was that I was spraying both sides of the filter with the K&N oil. Not oversprayed by still a no-no so when it...
