Thanks
I decided not to risk it and called a rollback. $80 cash and despite the nose being on the ground we were able to get it on and off the rollback without tearing off the air dam. Thanks for all the advice and discussion.

Thanks for all the advice, the transverse spring is broken, shattered right in the middle. No other marks and no evidence of any trauma. I have the '80 in the garage and can't move it so I managed to get this one on and off a rollback and to a suspension shop. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I need to get a 97 with some front suspension issues (front tranverse spring broken?) to a suspension shop about 35 miles away. It is pretty flat and I can stay on back roads. Is it ok to use a 2 wheel dolly? It has a 6 speed.
Thanks Dad, I was thinking about a broken spring but it seems to be level and I would have expected it to sag on one side. The owner noticed the change but claims he didn't make any modifications, he doesn't seem like he has an interest or for that matter the ability to do that kind of work. I...
I am looking at a 1997, overall it seems to be about what one would
expect, except for the front end is on ground. There seems to be little or no clearance for tires. All of my experience is with C3s so I have no idea what causes this. Any ideas?
Thanks for the quick response, just to be sure I understand the center dash section are 192 and the tach and speedo etc are 194? Sorry for my ignorance, I am pretty new to Corvettes.

My tach was jumping and sticking so after reading through some of the threads I odered a new tach board. It did not come with any instructions and I cannot figure out how to get to the old tach board. I am not talking about the plastic and copper ribbon on the back of the tach and speedo, but...
I am putting new carpet in a 80 Corvette, I have read several threads about using reflectix for heat insulation and was wondering if anyone had tried using duct insulation instead? I was thinking about using the frost king (sold at Lowe's for about $15) it is sticky in one side and foil backed...
Should there be two body mounts (on each side) under the sill plates on an 80 Corvette. I pulled the carpet out to replace and found two large diameter holes on each side that lool like where the body mounts are depicted in the shop manual, is that correct?
I just bought a 1980 coupe, my first Corvette. I wanted to replace the power antenna and purchased a new one from Zip. It is all pretty straight forward except the wires run through a body access plug and connect inside the body behind the speaker. How do I get the connector through the plug...
