2005 - starting problem
Hi everyone;
I've been working on this problem for a few months. Periodically the car just doesn't start, but everything else seems fine. I've changed batteries and alternators, checked voltages, had the charging system and battery checked (under load), etc. The...
Hi;
I have a supercharged/cammed '05 Z51 .... which had the stock LS2 2.5" exhaust. I bought a complete, used Z06 NPP system ....manifolds....all the way back to the tips, including gaskets, O2 sensors. The whole kit was $550. If you shop around on the forums, Corvette Forum has a really good...
Asking $100, I will ship them anywhere in North America (shipping cost is incremental)

Corvette Z51 Sway bar kit (C5 or C6) - Ottawa Transmission, Drive Train For Sale - Kijiji Ottawa Canada.
I have a set of C6 GM Z51 sway bars, front and rear. They'll fit a C6 or C5. They're in excellent shape. I dont have the end-links for them (I reused the end links I have for the new sway bars I installed). They come with the bushings.
On a C6: they are considerably stiffer than the stock C6...
.... took the intake off .... doesnt buy anything since you cant get at the lifters from there ..... the valley is all cast in (on an LS6 motor). Reverted to pulling the cam with lifters left in .... works like a charm. Rotating the cam continuously as its extracted does in fact bump the lifters...
Thanks warren s.
Sounds like its all doable with the intake left in .... but I'll probably end up spending as much time fiddling with it as it'll take to just remove the intake.
Is there anything special about the instake removal on the LSx engines? (... btw ... I havent read anything that...
Thanks Hog;
... so how do the cam lobes push the lifters up high enough that the cam bearing mains can clear underneath them as you pull the cam out? ... or os that where the magnet comes into play?
eboch
I've heard that the camshaft on these motors (2003 LS6 5.7L) can be removed/installed without removing the intake manifold and removing all the lifters.
This doesnt make sense to me ..... but I thought I'd check the story before I pull it all apart. Does anyone know how to do this procedure...
... not sure what I'm running for pads ....they were on the car when I bought it. I can tell you that on the track, the brakes on this C5 Z06 certainly outperformed the brakes on my C6 Z51 (it has stock calipers and pads) on the same race track.
....did 10 or 20 cycles of heaving start-to-almost-stop breaking to try and bed in the brakes. Didn't seem to help. However, a heavy day racing at the track did completely get rid of barke noise. I assume this is was just a case of thorough bedding in the brakes & rotors.
My Z06 has an annoying sqeaking brake problem. I've dismantled the pads a few times .... adjusted the tin shims so that they apply more pressure to the pads ..... but the sqeaking continues to be there.
I'm thinking now that the problem is just the type of pads I have on there. Has anyone had...
