Bossvette................you da man.........:beer........got it thanks a lot...............petes74 too late already went ballistic, hence the post...........thought I'd get some advice before I broke something..:upthumbs
Just got my new hood in from Ecklers been a while but stock wouldn't close with the new motor :D so new high rise cowl hood going on right now.
I was aligning the hood and on the last striker plate, passenger side and the hood latched pull the release cable and that side stays...
Don't know where you are with this but I found that if you use a flat head punch on the bolt head and smack it a few times, it's breaks the rust layer up on the threads and destroys the bond of the rust. If it's still in there and you can get to it, give it a try, you might get lucky, it's...
This is something I found on the net a few years ago. I built a CR calculator from this in Excel, ( yea I'm an engineering geek). I was and just finished building my motor, 425HP at the crank. My objective was to get close to 10.5 to 1 so I could run pump gas, actual came out to be ( static)...
Thanks man I thought I was loosing my mind...........any idea what that switch is called..........I would assume I'll need to order one from Mid A.
Thanks again for the help and time......:beer
GerryLP, in post number 2 if you look closely at the drawing ( near the "C" marker, above the word "battery") there is a plug that exits the starter harness and appears to be the "blue" plug above in the picture I posted. I am assuming that the wires exiting at that point connect to a sensor...
Not to sound completetly stupid here :crazy but the drawings are hard to read....thanks by the way, my assy guide is lousy for this stuff.
It appears that the "red" wire would go directly to the starter motor. That one seems pretty straight forward.
The "purple" wire goes to the coil above...
Just ordered a new starter harness and am trying to get it in. Stupid me :crazy didn't mark the wires when I pulled it out, it's frayed beyond recognition so no idea where things connect. Attached is a pic of the harness. Anyone got any ideas where the wires go?
Thanks
By pass pressure regulator? Where and how does that work? Forgive my ignorance here folks. The pump is a single in single out Edelbrock, so fuel goes in, pumps up to the carb. The return line you mention AKRAY4PLAY, I can't visualize how that works.......what is the line bypassing ie what does...
If you do what JohnZ says that will work. Align the number one position on the distributor to the 10 oclock position. 10 oclock as in standing on the engine looking toward the front of the car, so slide it in about 9 - 9:30 and the gears, as they mesh to the cam, will align the number one to the...
OK coming down the home stretch on the rebuild.
Hooked up the fuel lines tonight, radiator and fly wheel bolts left, maybe getting it on the road in the next two weeks, can't wait.
While hooking up the fuel lines tonight there is a line that is parallel to the fuel line on the frame. I am...
Just got my headers in yesterday :D ( the Hooker set from Mid America) and am planning to install them or at least start this weekend.
I need to put a new head temp sensor on at some point down the road. Anyone know where I can aquire one of these for an AFR 195 head, I think it's a stock item...
Bill, I was on a dyno and the guys running the dyno had swapped the carb. They had Demon on the phone and were complaining about the quaility as this was not the first time ( apparently) this had happened. They did however say that Demon was very responsive which is why they only deal with...
Can't speak for the Holley but can for the Demon and Edelbrock.
I just got off a dyno test after a full rebuild. I had problems with the Edelbrock 750 CFM I ran and switched to a Demon. I do not have the car on the road yet so can't speak for the actual carb I have on the road. I do know that...
