picking it up today 1973 vette

Carb apart? I have taken a Q-Jet apart before when I was a much younger man in high school auto shop. I do remember there were alot of small parts internally. I leave carb rebuilds to the pros and I am not one of them.To be a mechanic.....anyone can takes things apart or take parts off a car...

    '73 Front Center Grille

Chas.. I guess that is possible on the front center grill and license frame. That procedure would create a lot of unesscessary waste and cost to GM and if so there should be some center grills and frames around in states like KS and FL to name a few?

    '73 Front Center Grille

You guys are right. I would imagine that GM only put center grills on '73 Corvettes that were ordered from the factory going to a state that only required one rear license plate. Same with the stainless steel license plate frame that came from the factory with the car. Only one frame for cars...

picking it up today 1973 vette

Good luck on your "73 Hope things turn out good for you. I have never purchased a car on ebay so I don't know what you should expect. The '73 I think is a great transition year Corvette with a lot of improvments over the '72 model year. I am real happy with my '73 as it is everything I was...

    1973 Convertible

YJ8 Wheels, Special Cast Aluminum with Center Caps Yes the aluminum wheels were available to order on the '73 however it was "rumored" that 8 sets were made with only 4 sets being delievered on the car. General Motor's reason for lack of availability was a in correctable bead leak around the...

    73 Build Sheet Q#2

Interesting read on your '73s... I have dreamed of finding some sort of documention on my car, but to this day have nothing! My car has been restored and the gas tank is new. The interior has been completely redone so the dash pad has been removed. The seats have been redone as well. These are...

    73 Corvette 350 4-speed

Red73BB I have never driven a Corvette that didn't have a carburator ('80 and newer) I guess I would enjoy it, but I do get a lot of looks and thumbs up when I take mine out! You just don't see many 50s, 60s or 70s cars on the road anymore. The guy that I bought my '73 from took my money...

    Cable TV/DVD in the garage?

I am sure that some of you folks have a television in your garage. I am planning on doing this in my finished garage soon, but just need to make some decisions. Do you just put a TV on a shelf up in the corner of the wall near the ceiling and wire a power outlet and cable outlet? Or DO...

To Dump in $$ or Not??

Rebuild or Replace? Bob, a lot of good advice here on the board. Tends to lead to replace with a GM crate engine and store the original #s matching engine. As a old time NCRS guy, I would rebuild the orignal engine. That is where the money is in my opinion. If you want a hot rod...buy one and...

Poll: Who Did You Buy Your current C3 From?

The '79 found it on the internet. Flew out to look at it, bought it and flew out the following week and drove it home. The '73 found it on our NCRS Driveline newletter in the classifieds. It was one of our local chapter member's car. .
