Question: Changing fluids in my '88?

No Drain plug exist for the rear end. A few of the members here have installed a drain plug and it seems to work fine. However the procedure does involve a drill and a tap set. I recall one really good picture and write up that was done. I just sucked mine out with a 12 dollar pump from the...

Want To replace carb, what size should i replace it with?

" The Edelbrock AFB "clone" is a poor choice because of it's float chamber design is not good on cars which get driven hard under braking. That's one reason GM discontinued using AFBs on Corvette in the mid-60s." I just had to jump in here .... I had an Edelbrock performer carb on a...

    Convertible or hard top?

I have a 1995 convertible. I bought the ragtop for a few reasons 1. I am 6' 5'' and about 230 pounds, me head hits on the hardtop. Headroom is unlimited with the top down. 2. Open air motoring really makes the trip more memorable to me. 3. Convertibles are easier to sell and retain a...

    Question: Is a 1985 a good investment

What he said ... Basically C-4's are a good bang for the buck in performance. However, even a very good one ( low or zero miles, plastic covers still on the seats, original tires etc.) goes for less than when it was purchased new. Check out the auction prices at Barret Jackson for proof on...

    confused as ever

The reciever your talking about is an aluminium case with heat sinks on it. If I recall it is velcro'd to the ..... right side of the comapartment. Dont yank it out.Gently remove it. many wires are attached and the connectors are fragile I would check those connectors for issues...

    power seat motor

The seat is held in with 4 bolts. If the seat wont move you may be able to get to it with a gear wrench. Also, try to sit in a push back with your feet and move the seat back at the same time. See if that helps. You may have stripped gears in the seat track. If so its about 150 to 200 bucks...

Comparing 6 speed to 4+3 manual.

The feel of the 6 speed is far better than the 4+3. The 6 speed has shorter gear throws and a much more precise gear selection mechanism. If you have ever driven an older GM small block 4 speed car, then you have a good idea of what the 4+3 feels like. The 4+3 is tolerable anda useable...
