I have come to discover that I will be at home this weekend ALONE. No kids or wife to interupt my Vette time in the driveway !

WOO HOO ! 2 full days of washing waxing and nice 70 degree weather

:chuckle:chuckle:chuckle

Now for the serious stuff, I have about 100 dollars (yeah I'm rich !) and want to do something to improve the vette , looks or otherwise. Mostly trying to stay busy as I'm tired of working in the yard !

Any ideas ?

Things I have thought of

1. Powder coat the Brakes
2. Claybar the entire car
3. Clean under the hood (this is a 1 1/2 day process for me) :eyerole
4. Drink Beer
5. Replace swaybar bushings with Polys
6. Detail fender wells
7. Chrome Lt-1 Exhaust tips

In your opinion what is the best 100 dollar improvement for a vette ?

Keep in mind I have limited shipping time.

Thanks for reading ! :upthumbs

Best $100 improvement?

Check brake fluid, if dark flush fluid.

If manual transmission, do the same to the clutch fluid. If automatic, check for cherry red transmission fluid. If it's dark and/or smells burnt, replace fluid and filter.

If coolant hasn't been changed in over two years, drain it and replace it. Old antifreeze will corrode right through an aluminum cylinder head.

Check brake pad thickness and replace if thin.

Wax makes it look nice, preventive maintenance and inspection can keep it running forever.

:beer Beer makes a man feel good... and women look purdy! :beer

So far I have

1. Maintenance.

(I've replaced and flushed every fluid including rinsing out the windshield washer reservoir... yeah I'm that guy) :rotfl

2. Drink beer.....

The Vette still looks the same;

well it IS shinier after I drink a few beers.

Any others?

Well I have done most of those things, but I'd say (since you've done the maintenance things) claybar and detail the fender wells. Makes you feel good about how nice she looks. And have a few beers in the process.

I think you can do the clay bar and stainless tips under that budget but it won't leave much left for beer! :L

Get a chair , place it in front of the Vette, open a Cold beer and then think of all the things you could be doing!!

If that makes you feel guilty then detail something or go for the claybar.

A man has to have his priorities, Im thinking LT-1 tips and claybar so far ...
I will make my buddies bring the beer. :beer

ok so far ...

100 Bucks
-16 for a 12 pack of Stella Artois beer
-----
84 bucks

It took 2 beers to wash the car. Including the door jams
under hood and fenderwells.
:beer
it is now parked sideways in the driveway with a
slight twist to the front wheels.

:cool

Spotless ... looks like its doing 140 sitting still, I may get a ticket for speeding in my own driveway

Now to plan for Saturday ..

Beer and exhaust tips it was. Still waiting on the tips in the mail though.

Claybar is too much like real work !

By the time I was finished on Saturday night I couldnt even hold a beer.

No wonder people get paid well to do that.
