Is there a trick to getting the canister out of a 1979??

I have a 79 Corvette with a 350 tranny that has recently started to slam into reverse gear. Is there an easy fix for this, or am I looking at a new or rebuilt tranny in the future?? Any suggestions are appreciated. Cheers

On my 79 Corvette the battery drains if the car is not run for 3 days. Any advice on how to find the problem?

I just got a generator light and horn while driving home last night. I had the generator checked and the battery is also good. Autozone suggested that I check the fuseable link. Does anyone know where the fuseable link is on a 1979??? Thanks in advance!! JohnnyJ

79 signal arm replacement Has anyone ever changed one of these units?? If so, any details I should know. Is there any way to re-attach the broken arm back into the oriinal location?? I have tried JB Weld with no success. Johnny

I have a 79 corvette that the signal arm came loose and is now hanging by the electrical wire. Can anyone help with where to purchase a replacement and also how difficult it is to change, The steering wheel is tilt and telescoping type.

Found the problem thanks to your info. I changed the brake line(rubber hose) to the left front brake, bled the system and the problem is gone. Many thanks for the help!! johnny

I started by having a problem with the car all of a sudden starting to pull to the right. I changed both front calipers and pads, bled the system, and it still does the same thing...very little change. Any ideas on where to go next?? Johnny

I have alway jacked the rear of cars using the pumpkin of the rear end. Recently I was told the on Corvettes not to do that because it may cause the cover of the rear end to crack. Is this really true?? Johnny

I've been trying to find a short that drains the battery on my "79", but still getting no where. I hooked up an AMP meter to the hot lead and the battery and get a reading of .085 regardless of which fuse I pull. Does anyond have a system I can use to follow to get to the short?? I REALLY...

Need some advice asap. A friend of mine said that he services air conditioners and he would be glad to do mine. He claims that he can mix the original R12 with the newer 130 and that it will work just fine. Does this sound like it will work??? More important, will it hurt my A/C system...
