Lamps
Replacing the Halogen lamps in an 84-89 cluster will short out the power supply over time. The solution is to use the 89 lamp, which is a xenon lamp, and costs about $4 each.
Sachs, GM's current supplier, is a German company. Also LUK has great clutch components.
You are correct re: price, but not that much. Discounters use the overseas suppliers. I doubt the new ZR1 clutch is made in China, or any other late model 6 speed with a warranty.
If no crank & no fuel pump(s) then you're 99% sure. Bypass starter enable relay to test starter function. If it cranks but still no start, then you're 99.9% sure.
Sorry to hear about your trouble. The correct PP kit explains the balance procedure. We still have a couple of USA clutch kits available, if any one needs one.
My vote is a bad BCM/CCM due to your battery charging. The battery must be disconnected when charging a 90-96 Corvette, or for that matter anything newer. If you are not extremely handy, then replacing this module is better left to a pro. Good luck!
EGR valve
FWIW, only Delphi makes the correct EGR valves for a GM engine. For example, an auto supply will show 1 valve that fits all, whereas Delphi breaks theirs down by OE part # & app.
The CA apps are also special. Call or PM me if you can't find one.
