Question: If You Were Chevrolet, How Would You Attract Younger Buyers To The Corvette?

Great thread!!! As someone who caught the bug 60 years ago and only buys Vette's, you will find that today's younger set has very little interest, if any, in Vette's. "Fake Ferrari" kind of sums it up. In addition GM is trying to take the car upscale even though Porche' drivers "and their...

    20003 Red/Mod Red Z06 for sale.

As the title says, my Z06 is for sale. I am original owner and have ALL the paperwork and records from day one. Car has ~70k miles and was under GM warranty for its first ten years. All original and never raced by this senior citizen long time Corvette freak. I have added sound insulation...

    Help! 1965 Corvette petronix wiring

Vigman has a good point. On the '65 327/350HP I installed it on, we also used the Petronix coil. Just touching the key and the car fires up. Also no more loading up on start. Made an amazing difference.

    Help! 1965 Corvette petronix wiring

I've installed the Petronix in numerous Vette's, etc. Hook the positive to the hot side of the resistor so that the Petronix gets 12 volts and not nine volts. You will like it. Hope this helps.:cool!:

News: 2014 Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition

They have taken a page from Porche and BMW gouging. I hope us Vette people are smarter?:ugh

New guy with a few questions

Beautiful car--the twin to my '74 back in the day including the very rare rear window defroster. Brings back great memories. It should be driven and enjoyed. I would keep it after all the great work you have done.:cool!:

Question: Is is necessary to bleed sytem after coolant change?

Good catch up thread and Hib, as usual, is the man. I am fortunate to have a real old time service near my home and they are very environmentally correct. They have a coolant system "machine" that sucks out the old fluid fluid and replaces with new. They get about 14 Qts out of my '03 Z06...

Looking for Recommendations for Brake Pads

My '03 Z06, purchsed new, is my daily driver, as have been all my Vettes for the last 50 years. I put the AC/Delco ceramic pads on at 20k miles and just replaced them with Hawk Performance ceramic pads. The AC's were excellent and the Hawk's appear to be the same. Hope this helps.

    Question: 1981 Dual exhaust

Back in the day I had a an auto '81 and installed duals on it without the Cat. Made absolutely no difference in performance or gas mileage that I could feel. But, I was also still running the computer controlled carb. Hope this helps.:cool!:

Best Column Lock Fix for a Manual C5 (Cheap and permanent, and harmless)

I had the dealer do the TSB a few years back and that solved the problem. Apparently, the first TSB didn't solve the problem, so GM re-engineered the TSB and it works.:)

    1978 Interior courtsey light problem

I owned a new '78 back in the day and did all my own work. First, if you don't have a shop manual, get one fro www.helminc.com They print it for GM. Interior light relay. I checked my manual and there is no reason I can see for your engine to run on. Totally different circuits. Previous...

    Coolant Recommendations

Eventhough Dex-Cool is 5yr/150K miles, experience has shown that it can "sludge-up" if air gets into the system. The general consensus I have seen over the years is to change it at 3yr intervals. I have done this with my '03 Z06 since new and the coolong system is "perfect." Just my two cents.:)

    Question: Wheel bearings

Muddy waters is right on. You need someone who really knows how to do this and you will be fine. My favorite place is Van Steel in St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Florida. I have know them for over thirty years and they claim that one of their rebuilds has NEVER failed. Hope this helps.:)

    Replacong F and R Shocks

The 2004 Z06 Sachs shocks are suppose to be the best for our cars. Unfortunantely, I understand they are quite expensive. Next best bet is the C5 Z06 shocks. They are also excellent. Hope this helps.;)
