    84 Corvette 200-4r?

In a discussion on facebook about Corvettes someone mentioned that some 84 Corvettes came with 200-4r's. He said he got the info from a long out of print" GM ID numbers book specifically on Corvettes, with data recorded from Bowling Green assembly".I know the 84 I had came with a 700-R4 which as...

Question: Noob having problems with 84 Vette.

These cars are known to have injectors that get stuck open causing the fuel to start dumping. I would definitely look at replacing them especially if the mileage is high. Just for reference the injectors are different so one is for the rear throttle body and one is for the front. I owned an 84...

    Engine cuts out intermittently

Believe it or not it ended up being the that one of the screws on the dist. rotor was completely loose and one of the clamps on the cap wasn't down so it would bounce and momentarily loose connection. Took care of that and it was back to running great. Unfortunately my wife totalled her van in...

    Engine cuts out intermittently

I am having an issue with my 84. Driving down the road all of a sudden my dash will flip out and look like it does when you first turn the key on. At the same time I can feel the engine cut out then come back on. This just started about a month ago. Car is bone stock and I just put in a fresh...

Crossfire: deserving of it's bad rep?

I never had one come through our shop with injector problems but I agree the manifold design is poor. I got to admit I replaced more port style injectors than TBI. If the injectors were an issue than they deserve the bad rap not the whole system. CFI isn't the best but it is not so bad we...

Crossfire: deserving of it's bad rep?

The fix was out before the 82 model year which would have made it a non issue for the CFI cars.

Crossfire: deserving of it's bad rep?

Caddy's 4-6-8 motor problems weren't FI related it was the computers that shut the cylinders down that was the problem. Having worked on a number of CFI Vettes they all ran good once the TB's were reset. Any system will have problems no matter what the design. CFI is no worse than any other FI...

A combined read of how to mod a cross-fire?

You can port the intake and TB's for more flow. If your desire is 250-300 horsepower, alot of porting is not needed. You could bump the cam up slightly and put a good free flowing exhaust system on it. Roller rockers would also help. That should give you the boost in power you are looking for.

    C4 water drains

Can someone tell me where all the water drains are in the firewall area of a c4? Got a friend whom is getting water on the passenger side and it is not anti freeze. He found the 2 in the middle and I think one on the driver side lower part of the firewall but no more. Any help is greatly...

Crossfire: deserving of it's bad rep?

IMHO the bad rap came from the TB's not being set right from the factory. When I bought my 84 6 years ago I did brakes and tires and shocks. I bought it cheap and knew I had to do that. Shortly after the fuel pump croaked so I had a friend of mine who is great with the CFI do the fuel pump and...

How many 84 vettes are on here and how many still have the crossfire?

Mine has 97k on it and runs awesome with the original CFI. Mine is bone stock except for a K&N air filter and gutted cat. I have had mine over 5 years and it has never given me a stitch of issues. I have a friend who knows how to set the cross fire and he did a fabulous job. I put some money...
