For me the LT4 was the only way to go. It is the highest horsepower C4 convertible made. We wanted a convertible, so the ZR1's were out. A decent LT4 will hand a decent C5 his azz every day. I have done it several times. Love the LT4.

Intake manifold gasket? My 88 had a small coolant leak on the drivers side rear running down the bellhousing. It was the intake manifold gasket leaking. Take a good look for that.

I have the stock coupler with a BBK. No fitment trouble. It is a royal PITA to get on. Try a little light oil on the coupler so it will slide easier. It should fit. I start the bottom on first then work my way around to the top. Loosen the air box side to get more movement if you have to.

My trap speed was 106.13 on that run. I am hoping with a better launch and tweeking tire pressure a little maybe we can get in the 12's.

I never realized how "loose" the car was till I drove it with the hardtop on. I have driven many Corvettes, all convertibles. With the top on the cowl shake was gone and the car was 10 times more solid feeling. But we couldnt take it any longer, the top is off and the wind is back in our hair.:_rock

I found it a place called Hub Caps Plus in Libertyville IL. He said he had five of them. This was the last one. GM no longer makes them. I was lucky to find it within driving distance. I should have it back on Tuesday next week. I will most definately post some pics.

My CE has a whistle while the engine is running. I never put much thought in to. I think it is coming from the pump that is mounted under the left head light.
