I installed one of these on my Z06 last spring It worked fine for a few months, but then one day it wouldn't start and the speedometer was moving back and forth. I removed it and everything returned to normal. I haven't had the desire to reinstall and program it again. Good luck.
I've got the Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals on mine. The tires came with the car, so I can't offer a comparison comments, but I have no complaints about them either.
I have a portable Sirius unit and the FM transmitter works fine, no noticeable distortion. I did a search of available frequencies in my area and selected one of them as my default. Good luck.
I participated in a local Solosprint School this past May, and can relate to your experience. I really got an appreciation for what these machines can do, and for the conditioning of race drivers that run full races (ie. Formula 1, Nascar, etc...)
I considered this swap briefly on my last vette (87), and was talked out of it by local a mechanic who specializes in vettes. When he started talking about all that would be needed (eg. transmission, clutch, interior, etc.) and the cost ($6,000+/-), I traded up for for one with a 6 speed.
Thanks for the replys. I found some information at Z06Vette.com that recommended pulling on the tilt steering lever and hitting the bottom of the steering wheel. Worked like a charm.
Solved the problem. As per information I found at Z06Vette.com, I pulled on the tilt steering lever, hit the bottom of the steering wheel, and it came loose. Apparently, this lock-up can happen when you allow the steering wheel to snap up too quickly.
Got into my Z06 this morning and the tilt steering was locked in the full up position. The steering wheel still turned and I was able to drive the car, just not very comfortable. It appears that the tilt release handle is not engaged, but rather moves with very little effort. I have reviewed...

Thanks for the response. Is the screw just behind the wheel, or do I need to disassemble more of the column?
It has cruise control.
It is definately bent unless taking your hand off the steering wheel to turn on the signal is considered normal when driving a vette.
Thanks
Phil
The turn signal arm on my 87 is bent. I would like to remove it before trying to straighten it out. Is it screwed on? Any thoughts on how to remove it?
Thanks
