    Post pictures of your C3

New Arrival! Just wanted to share my new arrival! It is a 1971 Pro-Street Corvette. This car has allowed me the chance to fulfill a long time dream of owning and driving a truly "rowdy" street machine. The car has a definite attitude-it is an original big block Corvette. It currently has a 396...

    Q-Jet Question

The threads on the fuel/filter inlet stripped out on my Q-Jet. I abandoned that for a Holley which I have never cared for since installing. Can the threads be fixed in any way or is the Q-jet junk? I would like to go back to a Q-Jet for my '73. It performed great when I had it on. Is there a...

    fuel pump

Jim, it is a pretty easy fix. I have just changed mine on my '73. I found it much easier to jack up the right side of the car, and remove the front wheel/tire so I had more room to move around (don't forget jackstands). I put a small glob of grease on the piston to hold it in place. One tip...

    T Top Leak

I am experiencing a leak with my t tops on my 73 Vette. It appears where the chrome t bar attaches to the rear of the coupe body the weatherstripping or caulking? has disintegrated, allowing water to trickle to the back, eventually running down either side of the interior. The water then escapes...

    Noise in front end! ????

After replacing the rear end cover and going over the complete rear suspension, I took my '73 Vette out on the road. It ran fine for a couple weeks, but has now developed a noise in the front end. This occurs primarily when I am going in reverse and turn the steering wheel. When the front wheel...

    How tight is tight?

I have just replaced the rear end cover on my 73 Vette....due to one of the ears cracking off (among other problems). I purchased a new cover from Muskegon Brake....which was delivered almost next day.....and went on with no problem. Thanks Muskegon Brake! Anyhow, I replaced everything in the...

    dipstick problem

Had the same thing happen to me. Just buy a tube of permatex and put a bead on the underside of the ring that is on the dipstick where it contacts the block. Just make sure to clean the area good.........apply a small bead......and push the tube back into the block. I haven't had any more...

Replacement of Rear End Cover on 73 Vette

I was in the process of replacing the spring in my 73, when I noticed one of the ears on the rear cover was cracked. Shortly thereafter, it snapped off. Nice! Anyhoo, I do need to replace the rear end cover with a heavy duty one. I am wondering if I can replace the cover with the rear end in...

    Replacing rear spring

I was going to replace the spring on my car.....but as I went to loosen the four center mounting bolts I noticed that there was a crack up the side of one of the ears. What is the best way to fix this, just to get me through the rest of the summer? The rear is coming out of the car this fall...

    Holley Carb Question

Before I start...I know.....I know......don't use a Holley. Well, I had no choice. The conversion from a Q-jet to a Holley 600 cfm was a major pain in the ***. One of the biggest problems was the throttle cable adjustment. Wound up having to fab my own throttle cable bracket, but thats a whole...

Fuel Line Question: How do I change fuel line from pump to carb

Well, I finally gave up on trying to figure out what is going on after having more fuel dump on me. Seems that the pump is still siphoning gas through the pump. I redid some of the fuel line for now, and am going to pick up a rubber hose line pincher. Seems that on some of the Vette's this is a...

    new member, just bought 73

Welcome, Chad! Congrats on your 1973 Vette. I did the same thing you did, and bought my 1973 Vette about 2 years ago because it just caught my eye. I thought I did my homework on the car, but that was before I found this website. It is amazing how much info is out there about these cars. It...

Fuel Line Question: How do I change fuel line from pump to carb

Thanks Craig.......I will have to let things dry out a bit and try it in the morning. That seems to make a lot of sense......I hated to go to the Holley, but the Q-Jet gave up to old age and decided to strip out the fuel filter threads. Oh well......I will let you know if rolling it over works...

Fuel Line Question: How do I change fuel line from pump to carb

I am trying to change the solid metal line from the fuel pump outlet to the carb due to a carb change. I went from a Q-jet to a Holley and now the solid line won't reach to the fuel inlet on the new Holley. I loosened the solid line up where it exits from the fuel pump to the carb.....and the...

    Help! Car won't Idle

Well, the problem with my "hotrod" was finally diagnosed. After going through all the obvious things to look at (i.e. timing, plugs, etc.) a more detailed examination revealed a major choke adjustment needed. Once that was done, the car had now developed a dead cylinder :puke and much concern on...
