New Tube Frame or Old Chassis for Restomod

Jim Meyer I looked at the Jim Meyer stuff but wasn't sure they have the equivalent for my C2. I planned on calling to find out.

    suspension upgrade

I have heard that the F41 is too stiff. I am really wondering about the rides of different combinations that really improve performance on the stock frame.

New Tube Frame or Old Chassis for Restomod

New Tube Frame or Old Chassis for Restomod

Tom's Rear end 10k? What's so special about a Toms rear end? That sounds like a lot. I guess the price that I have missjudged the most is the transmission. I had planned on using the 4 speed that is in there now but it seems like everyone replaces them. I was estimating 10k for the...

New Tube Frame or Old Chassis for Restomod

Checked out the pics So the Chassis in the last few pics on the left is the SRIII and the one on the right is the stock modified one? It cost you 80k to get the under carraige and drive train to that point? It looks like you are doing the work yourself so 80k in parts? The progress...

New Tube Frame or Old Chassis for Restomod

A good deal on a rolling chassis i was calling around talking to differnet builders about options and was offered a complete rolling chassis ready for wheels, tranny and engine without having to use mine as a core for approx 20k. I figure if I can sell the one I have for 5-7 then why not...

    Sell rolling Chassis

What would I need to know and about how much should I try and sell a 1963 rolling chassis? I search on here and found some previous threads for around 7k for an earlier year and 4k for another 1963. It is a 1963, Has a 350 from 1970 something that actually runs but is crap. a restored...

    suspension upgrade

Looking for the same info. I am going to do a resto mod on my 63 as well and was just wondering the same thing. I am going to keep the stock frame but add coil overs and power steering. Anyone have input on what they have done and how its worked for them? I know YMMV.

    63 RestoMod Versus Restoration

Sounds like good advice. I like putting together puzzles but I don't like having to find the pieces. I really think I would struggle with doing a correct corvette, but also struggle with the thought of moding a classic. I have to confes that i have modded every car I ever got from a new...

    63 RestoMod Versus Restoration

Original Frame I think Thanks for the input it seems like I am getting on track with all this great feedback. Since the original frame is still in decent shape I am leaning toward keeping the original frame and having it cleaned up and strengthened. It makes sense unless the frame was too...

New Tube Frame or Old Chassis for Restomod

That was easy..thank you I think the frame is in good shape already but overall it seems like the body has a lot of flex. Even cornering now seems I was thinking i would weld the frame where the factory originally just spot welded it and have it cleaned up. At the same time I was...

New Tube Frame or Old Chassis for Restomod

I have decided to restomod my 1963 convertible. My first question is should I keep the frame, weld it and clean it then sell the parts? (I am going to replace like suspension, brakes and wheels) or do I sell the rolling chassis and replace it with a tube frame chassis with a suspension...

    63 RestoMod Versus Restoration

So i am not crazy: RestoMod It is! Thanks for the replies everyone. I have been leaning toward the resto mod direction myself but when dealing with something as historic as this I wanted to do a sanity check. There is nothing special about this car other than its a family heirloom that I...

    63 RestoMod Versus Restoration

Hi All, A long first post i know but I have to decide this before I ask any more. I own a 1963 Convertable with a 350 from 1970 something. The transmission and the rest of the drivetrain is stock, down to the drum brakes. I love to drive it and want a car that drives as good as it looks...
