your not trying to clamp the return line .You want to clamp the pressure line from the pump after the pump builds up pressure. This is to see if there is a fault with the pump or sending unit. The return line is excess from the regulator. Like I said wasn't sure which line it was.Your link to the...

the rubber lines are under the filler door.Remove the 4 screws holding the door filler plate to the body.Remove the gas cap.Pull the filler neck rubber boot out and you will see the rubber hoses connected to the fuel assembly.Put the gas cap back on.There are three hoses.I believe the one at the...

It should hold the pressure. If not you could have a leaking regulator diaphram, a bad fuel pump check valve or a leak at the fuel pump assembly including the fuel pump tubes.

I has a the similar problem with my 1985. The short hose that went from the pump to the tube cracked.Found out that you need to get a hose that has the nylon center because the ethanol eats up the hose.Standard fuel hose doesn't work even though the parts counter gave me the original tubing and...

'86 digital dash issues and bulb upgrades

When my 85 dash went on the blink I replaced the bulbs.Easy to see if there on with the facia plate off. They are behind the round silver disks but you can see if there on around the edges with the key on. On mine they were on but the polarizing film had aged and then you won't see any of the...

    battery drain 1985

I probable would have put the battery tray back on without cleaning the ground terminals if not for reading your post about good clean contacts.More than likely the contacts for battery power at the solenoid are dirty also.A valid point that bad connections can cause problems.I wouldn't step off...

    battery drain 1985

I removed the battery tray and there isn't any power stud .There were no power wires to that area. Cleaned the ground lug with 2 terminals while under there. Looking again at the manual there are power feeds off the starter solenoid. Will check and clean them. with such a small draw reading on...

    battery drain 1985

:eyerole I took a look and couldn't find it.Does it look like a stud with a nut with wires to it? Also I did find a minor drain from the alternator only when I removed the two wire plug from the regulator with the battery A terminal still connected.Bad alternator too? its got a very minor 35ma...
