Little help needed from my Corvette friends. I'm installing a Derale electric fan kit in my 76 Vette and need a little help on where to wire the wire from the relay to an ignition run wire. The only reference book I have is a Haynes and the wiring diagrams are a bit confusing to say the least...
Background: I have a 76 vette and have a aluminum radiator with two fans on the way..I want to purchase a fan install kit that will monitor the engine temp. My question is where do I put the thermostat, since the vette is already using one to monitor engine temp and sending it to the gage panel...
I've noticed a little oil coming down on the inside of the left rear tire,(1976 Vette) does this indicate a bearing or seal problem? Read alot about trailing arms on this forum, could this be an area to suspect? Anyone know of a good C3 Corvette mechanic or garage in East Tennessee.
Thanks...
Hello,

Need a little help with my newly acquired 76 Vette. I have a problem with both doors that want to close. I've done my research and I have found that I need to replace the "S" door springs in each of the doors. I have determined that neither of the springs are in my doors, they are totally...
On my 76 Vette there is a black rocker switch mounted on a trim panel that is right next to the accelerator, the panel is part of the dash trim.(hides radio and wiring on the left side) Anybody know what this switch controls?
Thanks
This is the part that I was missing.
Jim,
The silver colored plastic piece in this picture was missing in my steering column, yours may be broke or missing. You do have to pull the steering wheel to get to it...
Michigan Man,
My problem turned out to be a small plastic piece that sat on top of the lower contact assy, someone had left it out and disconnected the horn and removed the horn relay, so I actually had several problems to overcome. The horn relay is real close to your fuse panel and plugs into a...
Thanks for replying duke94, but my lower horn contact assy looks nothing like the one you pictured. I do appreciate you, maybe someone else will have a picture of the T&T steeering column. Meanwhile I'll look at Jim Shea's article.
Thanks again.....
I have found the reason my 1976 horn blows(T&T steering) all the time, just need someone to tell me how to resolve it. The horns lower contact assy's spring is always touching metal, how is the spring positioned so that it does not ground out to metal...what keeps it in place? Thanks for any...

Got a 76 that the horn doesn't work when depressing the horn button. I've applied 12v to the horn and it works fine. So I believe my problem will be in the horn button area, horn relay or associated wiring. I've removed the upper contact assy and I'm only finding one of the metal rod, spring...
