A guy backed into me at a stop sign, so I am in need of a nose, hood, paint, and who knows what else. Anyone have a recommendation for a shop that does great work? (hopefully some C4 experience since my hood is now jammed shut! :duh )
Thanks,
Mike
Bad employees ruin the Corvette name
Why Chevy dealers don't deserve to handle Corvettes? Let's see, where to start? Chronologically?
A family friend just bought a Corvette from a Chevy dealership. He was "sold" a Z06. Too bad it was just a fixed roof coupe.
Fitting weather stripping to a...
Ok-
Get high temp/good fluid
High performance pads (Perfomance Friction, Carbotech, Hawk)
DOT braided lines.
This is what I run at the track, and can run all day at the track. Pads are the biggest change, and you need to match them to your driving habits. (ie. don't get a full on race pad...
Not all belts are the same for LT1's. 92-93E use a double sided belt. Good luck finding one - Dealer only (or catalog).
George- did you swap pullies to fit a regular belt?
A word of advise, be careful how cheap you go. I thought mine slave cylinder was failing several years ago, and the replacement I bought lasted less than 30 days. I put the factory original one back, and have been doing well since.
Racer - no, I know people running far more HP than that with no brace and no problems.
As for the brace, mine stays nice and shiny as I draggs across just about everything! I have less clearance than a '64 Impala in the bario. (orale!) When I figure out a brace, I will post!
I was just reading another post where someone said that there are holes where the weights attach, and that you just need to make sure they are in the same place on the new flywheel.
Someone verify??
btw, how many miles did your clutch last? I am waiting for mine to go out, and have been for...
My head unit is begging to be worked on. Has anyone had the cassett to mp3 input modification done by Dr. Don? Just wondering how you like it, and if possible, would you post a picture? I am considering this modificatoin but would like to see what it looks like.
Thanks,
Mike
Hib Halverson- None of my cats have such a "dimple".
- maybe the LT5's got a little something different.
CROOZ1N- Nice nipple ... Uh i mean dimple. You think this is standard? I'll have to check mine.
-my guess is that it is common on the LT1/LT4 since my 1992 had it, and so do the 1996's...
Hib-
I tried to get a picture of the spare set in the garage. Can you make out the indention in the pipe? (got home late, so best I could do on the quick) I have found this on LT1/LT4s I have been able to get a look at. Cat-backs would not solve the issue of the factory crimping the pipe...
Hib-
Nice write-up. I will follow your lead with the Thermo-Tec. (and get a little extra for the bike!) A question thought, are you running factory cats? And if so, does the ZR-1 have the same dimple after the cat on the passenger side as the LT1/LT4s? (no one ever seems to talk about that...
