splice 232 According to the service manual splice 232 is located in the instrument panel harness near the left side of the glove box.

I agree with Hib, but strongly suggest you disconnect the ignition coil before doing this, very easy to start a fire with fuel blowing out of the spark plug openings and the loose wires sparking. Ask me how I learned this.:D

94's do have some OBDII functionality, but misfire detection requires a crank position sensor that did not get installed until 96. Checking for mechanical problems would would definitely be high on my list of things to check based on the knock description.
