Tony,
You can modify the existing block to accept the "spider" brackets used on the stock GM roller blocks. This will keep roller lifters from spinning. Just drill and tap a few bolt holes that hold the brackets in place. When I did my roller cam in the Xfire motor, I used the Comp Cams roller...
Good luck. Simply not available. I re-did the interior on my 84 in 2006. It had the houndstooth sport seat cloth, which I liked very much. I lucked out finding another set of great seats from a part out.
but nobody makes a set of cloth seat covers. Closest I could find was cloth seats from an...
I had an 84 when new and owned it for 24 years. I thought about swapping in a TPI unit, but frankly there was little to no gain to be had. It's much more straightforward to port the manifold, maybe bore the TB's, convert over to an EBL ECM from Dynamic EFI to make tuning much simpler.
Add 1.6...
If not for the trans tunnel requiring some fabrication and modification, the ZF is a very straightforward upgrade since it was an OEM trans starting in 90(?). So everything else is just stock.
Whatever changes you make, an ECM swap will be required. There's no support for the stock ECM, and cam timing, porting etc. will necessitate re-doing the fuel and spark maps. I went down this road 15 years ago w my Xfire. I port matched and Extrude Hone'd the manifold. Used bored out TBs.

The trans tunnel will need to be modified regardless of which trans is used. I posted some pics in a previous thread. The ZF retains a stock look and uses all stock pieces.
The speedo works altho the polarity of the VSS connector requires switching.
Tony,
When I did this, I had to modify the trans tunnel because of how the 4+3 shifter is mounted, which sucks IMO. So I grafted part of a 90 tunnel since the ZF-6 has an internal rail setup.
I also added a Fidanza Aluminum FW, ZF-6 Bell Housing and LT-1 clutch and pressure plate. Also the C...
