I’m trying to replace my rag joint and just getting parts has been a journey. I think what was installed was not correct. I bought a Lares 202 rag joint for a 65 non-tele. The length of the flange that came off and the new one are different on the steering box side. I’m going to install what I have, assuming vendor fitment is correct. Anyone have concerns? Different length flanges worries me a bit. Old one had a rivet and a bolt holding it together. Also I added power steering a 10 years ago, but originally this was a non-PS car. Maybe that’s the difference?

Pictures for reference.

On the 1965 there was a different coupler (rag joint) for telescopic column and non-telescopic. The non was the same from 63-66 and the tele was 65/66. If I remember right, the shorter one was for telescopic.
