trade in value for 2004 z06

Trade-in for Vettes is always lower than sale value. The dealers will quickly turn a profit on your loss.I checked on trade-in value on my '96 LT-4, and it's only $12,500 (was considering a 2004 Z-06).Sell to a buyer if you ABSOLUTELY have to let her go. Greg

    Zo6 Top Speed

True Todd, but there is also "induced drag", "Parasitic drag", etc. For instance....a F1 racer's ground effects create so much drag that the deceleration just with throttle off is equal to a Z-06 under full braking. The drag at the rear of a Z-06 vette is the major contributing factor to the drag...

    Very annoying battery drain issues...

The K*I*S*S system is usually best. (Keep It Simple, Stupid). With a volt meter check the battery at the terminals static (engine off) any 1.5 vdc reading less than 12 vdc indicates a dead cell. Also commonly overlooked is to check for a good 12 vdc at the chassis ground for the battery. Clean...

    LT4 LT4 6-speed shifter - recommendations?

The previous owner had installed the Hurst shifter, so i only remember what the OEM long throw felt like on friends' 'vettes......the Hurst reminds me of the way a M-21 felt on a Camaro I had as a youngster, no complaints so far. Greg

An OBTW to Sherry, I got my 96 in Torch Red with Black interior (UGA 'Dawgs!!), but in sunlight at certain angles it is a VERY noticeable burnt orange hue (damn T sips!!). Greg

    Coolant Temp gauge/sender problem

Whew, that's a relief!! Wish I'd read this thread last week.....waiting in line in a drive-thru and the analog temp gauge starts climbing real fast....the digital temp looked more like believable temps, but it scared me pretty bad. Little did I know that it wasn't hot enuff for the fans to come...
