Question: 1986 Pace Car Convertible Restoration

First off, welcome to the CAC!! I commend you on the journey you are thinking about taking. Anyone can say, sure go ahead and take on the project. Anyone can say, don't take on the project as being a 15 year old, time, money, and knowledge isn't peaking at the right time. The decision is yours...

    Important! 86 With no-start condition

Have you tried to retrieve any trouble codes? I wouldn't dismiss the TPS either. If coolant is in the area, electronics could be compromised. We may be getting ahead of ourselves, did you disconnect any ignition components, spark plug wires perhaps. If you did verify your plug wire routing.

    Help! C4 electrical issue

Could be coincidence, could not. When something happens as a result of work peformed, always inspect the area very closely. I put new plug wires on my car, a day later the car started missing. I thought oh great, mechanical issue. Turns out a weeks worth of trouble shooting ended up with...

Question: What do you recommend for cleaning a engine(internal) without taking it apart.

Any public form of information should be considered just that, public. Take the good with the bad. For CAC, the good far out weighs the bad. Keep in mind, most information is posted with good intent. That being said, someone that is using these boards for infomration should do some research of...

    2004 Chevy Silverado gauge problems

Well, my truck is under the mileage requirement, but 10 days past the time requirement ;squint: The dealership will cover the cost of the cluster, but I will be responsible for labor. 90 bucks. I guess it could have been much worse.

Help! '89 Vette Has No Underhood Lights or Cornering Lamps

Since this car is a new to you vehicle, and you're unaware of previous maintenance schedules, let's not assume anything. How familiar are you with working on cars? We'll go from there. I would recommend the factory service manual, since it sounds like you will be keeping the car for a while. I...

    Stamp Pad accessibility

I'm looking at maybe aquiring an 82. I've looked at many stamp pads, but not on anything this new. My question is, how accessible is this location? Are there accessories or brackets in the way. From looking pics looks like AC is obstructing the view.

    2004 Chevy Silverado gauge problems

I'm not sure if I've asked before. About a year ago, I noticed my oil pressure gauge acting erratic. Sometimes it would read 0, sometimes it would peg past 80. I notice that when this happens, during restart the gauge does not reset back to 0 before reading. Ok, so I've dealt with that issue...
