I purchased a Bend Pak two post service lift last fall for my pole barn (14ft ceiling - plent of room to spare).......I chose this one because the lift arms go low enought o fit under my C5 with out having to drive the C5 up on wooden blocks to get the lift arms under the car.....(a problem with...
I want to paint my calipers a different color (yellow) and also paint the "Corvette" lettering black. Have seen the caliper painting kits for $40.00. Has anyone had good (or Bad) success with these. Also need advice on what to use to paint the lettering with. Thanks.
Have purchased a Accu-Bra from Ecklers. Installion guide says it is manufactured for GM.
Two questions;
1; the top "fold tab" that fits behind the front edge of the wheel well. This tab is supposed to hook around soemthing and there is no "open" space for it to fit into. What do you do here...
OK, how about replacing the Column Lock with one that works like it's supposed to.....I don't suppose that anyone has thought about the repercussions when the "auto theft" community realizes that all the C5's with automatics will soon have a steering column that does not lock.............these...
Just recieved my Column Lock Recall notice for my 2000 C5 (automatic). Letter says they (the dealership) will be "removing" the column lock......Whats the deal here? Won't this make it easier to steal my C5? Why can't they "replace" the lock or is this just another way for GM to "take a...
A pole barn is a building that uses "pole" type construction when it is built. 6"X6" or 8"X8" poles are cemented in the ground about 8ft apart and the siding is then attatched to the poles. Very strong and cheaper then trying to build a buiding with a 12ft or 14ft ceiling using normal stud...
I guess I forgot to mention that I also used Stabil in the Vette as well as my 72 442 and the Harley...........(and my power washer, the lawn mower, the generator......yada, yada)
Going to be taking my C5 out of winter storage soon (Michigan). It's been covered and a Battery Tender has been on the battery. Anything I need to do before starting it up for the first time? First time I have stored it for the winter since I purchased the car last summer.....I supposed I should...
There is a web site that has alot of the info that you are looking for about paint care (www.properautocare.com). Check it out.....
But a condensed version is........
1. Wash the vehicle very well (you want to take any layers of
dirt & wax off) and then clean the trouble spots like...
i have noticed that there is some sort of film or resdue around the outside edge of the rear window on the inside of my 2000 Convertible. (Just purchased the car about 3 months ago or so.
Only had 1234 miles on it when purchased.......film was there when we picked the car up........thought it...
Since I have never owned a car with white paint, I do see that it could be a problem trying to see the wax. You could try waxing the car in a location with floresent lighting if possible. Having
3 or 4 floresent fixtures over head reflect light at different dirrections thus making it easier...
Been shopping around for a lift to intstall in my pole barn.
Hoped to find one (2 post lift) that the lifting arms would fit under my C5 with lifting pads in place (4 3/4 inches) without having to drive the C5 up on 2x12's to get it high enough.
Looks like Bend Pak is the way to go.
2 post...
maybe hold two Seminars..........one at a Corvette event in the eastern half of the states.....(Corvettes at Carlise, PA for example) and one at an Corvette event in the western half of the states...........
What you use to wax your car is pretty much 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. When it comes to waxing, what is more important is how often you wax your car depends on how or where it is stored. Is it a fair weather weekend car or a daily driver? If it's a daily driver where is it parked...
Sounds like a great idea.........maybe more then one seminar at the event..........
Different topics could be:
Exterior care: (washing, polishing & waxing of painted surfaces;(It's amazing how many
people really do not know how to properly care for
the...
Did the convertible top adjustments as to try and keep the top from rubbing anymore as I saw in the postings here. Have only had the car for a month or so (had 1234 miles on it when we bought it....it's a 2000). Anyway when I saw the postings about the convertible top problem I went out and...
Picked up our 2000 C5 Convrt. about a month ago (only had 1234 miles on it).........The center Console lid only seems to open about half way.....thought maybe it was because the car had been hardly driven by the orginal owner but it is still doing the same thing.........opens about half way then...
Just recieved the set of lift pads that I ordered yesterday......so
I was able to check the clearance height with the lift pads in place........clearance is 4 3/4 inches.........
