New Z06 catches fire - sent to me from a friend...

Geez, that sure sux. Poor guy probably waited a long time for that Z06 too. I feel for him. :cry One thing that bothers me. I've been in the fire service for 14 years and have seen my fair share of car fires (never a vette, yet). The one thing that bothers me most, the use of axes on...

New driver in the household. How much did your insurance go up?

3 years ago when we added our daughter, the policy went up $600.00. That includes the good student discount, drivers ed and behind the wheel training. And thats in New Jersey too!!! Then, a year later I got my vette as a pleasure car and the insurance went up $1200.00!!!! Go figure. Talk to me...

GM to rid of Vette current logo for bow-tie gold

Oh dear Lord......I certainly hope he didn't either!!!! :W If it was veeeery subtle.....like embossed somehwere in the paint or paneling, so it was all the same color......maybe.... But definitely no gold badging. -Brett I could live with the above scenario. Emboss it somewhere sublty, no...

GM to rid of Vette current logo for bow-tie gold

It may happen, who knows. But the one thing I did get out of the article though, is that no-one mentioned doing away with the beloved crossed flags logo. That's a plus in my book!

    K+N twin flow intake

I'm also thinking of getting the K&N Twin Flow or the Blackwing. My concern isn't the installation, but if I will have codes thrown afterwards. Am I concerned over nothing???? Sorry LaMagred, didn't mean to hijack your post. Chris

    Git-up-n-go problem

Just in case any of you were sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happened with my vette. Here ya go!!!! To make a long story real short, they replaced the mass air flow sensor due to a carbon build up. Everything seems to be A-OK right now with the car!!! I gotta give a...

    Git-up-n-go problem

Thanks Jim! When I took it in Friday, there was one history code that happened 194 miles ago. The thing I have to do now is drive the car and hopefully get the check engine light to come on and throw some codes. Sounds wierd, but at least I get to drive the car!!!! On an off topic side note...

Thanks for the reply C4C5. I don't have the codes, but I could get them from the tech Tuesday when I drop off the car. I'll post back then with them.

    Git-up-n-go problem

Well, I guess it had to happen sooner or late, my first post with a problem. Here goes. (Hope C4C5specialist is out there) Couple of weeks ago I took the pride-n-joy to the beach. About a 65 mile trip 1 way. Car ran great, air was cool, couldn't ask for a nicer night. About 3/4 of the way...

    HEADLIGHT BULD REPLACEMENT -HOW TO?

Your right DRTH, it did take a bit more force. Then tack on the fact that I was taking it more easy because I didn't want to break anything in there, and I can see why some people have trouble getting those things out. Don't worry, Nuttin' is gonna break!!!!!! ;)

    HEADLIGHT BULD REPLACEMENT -HOW TO?

I don't recall any "release tab", at least not on mine ('03). Like it's stated above you may have to push in a little while turning the socket. Also Craig, it may not be a full 1/4 turn. Could slightly less, but close.

    What Would You Do?

I used to own an '80 vette pretty much as you described the '82. Mine was black with the oyster gut. Sharp looking car. Like you, I always said I never get rid of it. Well to make a long story short, I got rid of it and eventually bought a C5. There was no looking back!!! My wife love's the car...

    HEADLIGHT BULD REPLACEMENT -HOW TO?

Hi Craig79, I've replaced both high & low beams in mine using the procedure your using and had no problem at all. Well, the short chubby fingers didn't help much, but..... I'd try toolguys advice by rocking it. It'll give. Chris

    28-TCS code C1225H

Hi BTDOG, I'm not sure the code has anything to do with the work you performed. Reason being is that the "H" at the end of the code means "history'. Which means this happened before and is stored in the computer. Go here: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72535...

    Black Again/New Again

I haven't tried any of the products mentioned in either post above. But I have and still use "Black Chrome". (Sorry, forget who makes it) I've had good results with it.
