    Question: C-5 alignment problems

I had the same problem with my factory GY's. Bought new non-runflat Kumho ASX's and had new alignment set to zero camber with me in the car since 95% of time...I'm the only person in the car. Since then...5yrs and 45k miles.....not a single front tire problem and still have tread left. I'm...

    Kumho Tires

:thumb:thumb:thumb I totally agree! I bought mine ASX's 1-05 and now have 40+K miles on them, no flats, still good tread left on the fronts.....not as much on the rears! :chuckle Got'em at Sears for $663. I'll be getting another set someday! Smooth and Quiet! :beer

    Help, Run Flat Question

Yeah, I do too....and a tool kit I made up with some metric stuff.....just in case, ya know! Never used any of it yet.......:) I've been across the country several times in my '98. Best road car I've ever owned. :D

    front spoiler

If you installed an ACI splitter, you have to make sure to leave your center air dam installed so it can push air up into the radiator shroud. Been there, done that! :thumb

    Help, Run Flat Question

:thumb:thumb I also have the Kumho ASX's non-runflats and getting ready to buy my second set in January. They are quieter, cheaper and ride so much better than any runflat. I've got 40K miles on mine and still good tread left. I bought them for longevity and price, for my group cruises and long...

    Veteran's Day

Andy, it was definitely a strange adventure for me during that conflict. First of all, the Army sent me over there with only 10mo. to go until my normal seperation date. That was unheard of at my duty station at Ft.Rucker, AL...but they sent me anyway. Once I got in-country I applied for and was...

    sport seat bolster plastic paddles

I'd just try to make a replacement out of aluminum, since you have the original pc. for a template. If you're not a DIY guy, google for corvette salvage parts. There are alot of C5 parts laying around from wrecks. Good luck

    Non Run Flats Your Experience???

I've got close to 50K on my Kumho ASX's also. Best tire I've ever purchased. Smooth ride and low noise, but of course after 5 yrs and 50K miles they are alittle noisier than when new. I'm starting to shop prices for the same tire, and have found very little price difference to what I paid in...

Slime or Fix-a-Flat safe for pressure sensors?

Don't just look for a nail etc., take the tires off the car and spray a soap and water solution all over the wheels and tires, then look for bubbles.....unless you have a big tank to completely submerge the whole tire and wheel to find bubbles and leaks. Good luck!:thumb

    Vibration

It's a pretty easy DYI project if you have some tools. You can buy new or reman'd hubs online for a good price. Check all the vette aftermarket catalogs and websites....like Mid-Amer., Eckler's, Corvette America, etc. Good luck.

    Vibration

Since it's more pronounced on a hard turn, you have the beginnings of a rear hub bearing going bad on you. I've got 40,000 on my Kumho AXS's and they still run smooth as glass once they're warmed up. They'll be on 5yrs. this coming January, so I know the rubber is harder than when they were...

    Eureka Springs GTG.....Anyone going??

Anybody going down to the annual Eureka Springs, Arkansas Vette rally Oct. 2,3 & 4th? I'm only 2 hrs. away and plan on going down and back home on that Sat. to check out the cars, people and the beautiful Ozark scenery. See you there! :thumb:thumb

    Tar substance

I agree 100%.........WD-40 is the best and easiest. I spray it on a clean cloth and wipe it over the tar and and let it soak in for a few min., then wipe the tar off. Then I wash the area with warm soapy water on a mitt, dry it...then rewax. 10 mins. total!!
