    corvette manuals for sale

Basically, I just keep it washed and waxed. I use Meguires products on my vehicles. My Vette has a very nice paint job, so I do whatever it takes to keep it clean. I live in an apt. here, so I use a good car cover along with my carport. Not having a garage bothers me, but for now in my life...

    corvette manuals for sale

Shadow: You're comparing "apples to oranges"!! Haynes manuals are inferior to GM manuals, therefore the cheaper price. BTW, you can buy good GM manuals on eBay at very good prices alot less than $100.

    A/C and radiator fan question

Baldie88: On my '88, the puller fan, between the rad. and the eng. comes on with the a/c. My a/c is also blowing just alittle warmer air when just sitting still. Having more air flow is what make it cooler. I'm not sure when my pusher fan comes on.......I think it works off the ECM when the...

    rad fan question

On my '88, my puller comes on with the a/c. I've never looked below the front end to see if the pusher is even working. I think it is though, since I've never had any high coolant temps.

Who has the most miles on their Corvette?

Hey Futurer Vetter: If you want to see a bunch of Vettes that have really been driven, check out this MidAmerican Design High Mileage website. I'm in there with 158,000 now on my '88 red coupe. http://www.madvet.com/features/himile.html Have a good day, fixvet

What to use on exhaust manifold bolts, blue loctite or anti seize?

Are those exhaust shields a PITA to R & R?? I've been thinking of doing that also. What brand of paint did you use? Thanks for the info.

    Gas mileage question

With my '88 coupe, I've never gotten less than 18mpg in normal city driving around San Diego county, but my hiway crusin' mileage at 75-80 mph is always 25-27 mpg on longer steady trips on the interstate roads. This seldom ever changes. Just rolled over 157,000 miles. Automatic w/2.59 gears...

    changing the auto trans fluid

According to my Haynes manual, for a drain and refill, it should take 4.5 quarts of fluid. I've done it before, but it is alittle messy. Good luck.

    oil question

I use the the Castrol 20W50 blend for cars over 75,000 miles. My '88 just turned 157,000 miles and burns less than 1 qt. each 3000 miles between oil changes. I can live with that. It runs great and no leaks.

Help, I need to clean oily valve covers

From a nearly new CACC guy: I've had my sweet '88 one year now (owner #3), and the previous owner seemed to take immaculate care of this car. I do too, but, I'm alittle hesitant about what to use to clean the aluminum cast parts ie. valve covers, plenum, etc. They're not really too dirty, but...

Look at what I just bought!!!

I have a CatBack system on my 88 also. I have alot of low speed resonance (up to about 1500 rpm) during normal city type driving, but nothing I can't live with. Like the others have stated, the sound is soooo cooool!!! I cruise the freeways at 75+ and hardly hear the Flowmasters at all. Great...

"normal" operating temps? and hot center console

For "RedBob" Hey Redbob, On 4/2/02 you mentioned using a manual switch to turn on your cooling fans. See: ("And of course there are variations between model years: my '89 has a 190 thermostat, and the cooling fan comes on at the incredible temp of 228F ! if left to its own devices. Not being...

    RPO Help

DC/NH, I've not ordered one yet for my '88 Vette, but the Nat. Corvette Museum sells custom ordered "build sheets" for any Vette. You have to supply them your VIN and they'll send you a exact copy of your original build sheet. That may be of interest to you and helpful in knowing alot more...
