Getting prepared to repair Code 26.

I am getting a 26.Can I simply disconnect the battery for a while to assure that I won't deploy the bag when I remove the sensor?(Personally I think it's rather odd to have a 26 when a 16 is almost always prevalent.Since it was 8 years old when I bought it I'm assuming that the previous owner...

    Horn Quit

When my horn failed to operate,I popped the horn button off to check the contacts. In doing so,I discovered that the'fingers'on the backside of the horn button had bent and weren't making contact with the uh..contacts.(!)I guess the Texas heat had gotten to them.Anyhoo,I bought new buttons and my...

    Hyper chip

Well if that don't throw a cat on the roof. I considered putting a chip in my '90.About that time Car and Driver had an article about chips. They claimed that the chips really made no difference in the performance of the vehicles tested.I believe it was around the summer of 2000 I read this in...

    ride control question

Another way to check F/X 3 needs two people. One person in the Vette, the other at the shock to be checked.Turn the SRC switch without the ignition on.Then turn the ignition on,but don't start it.Your helper should easily hear the actuator cycling. This is an easy way to find out if your actuator...

    G-Tech Meter

Does anybody (besides me,of course)have a G-Tech? I get ridiculous readings on mine sometimes that make me wonder just how accurate that thing is. As small as it is,how the hell can it be accurate?:confused I usually get acceptable, though optimistic, readings, but I just discovered that...

    Code Jackpot!!

It did not last.I got two cycles out of it. I called Bilstein and we discussed revalving and rebuilding, etc. He suggested I go ahead and buy new for the lifetime warranty, and if I wanted,I could send in the old ones for revalving, and having them available for autocross.Their repair/revalve...

Clogged converters ? Such an animal didn't cross my mind. How would I check for that condition?

    Code Jackpot!!

You can have it lowered and keep the FX3.I did. It really improves the look and the handling.

    New Flowmasters

Hmmmm...Not particularly. The top end has picked up of course. Latest high speed:144 mph, decided that was fast enough and backed off. I would rather get to 0 to 60 quickly than to go 144 mph. 0 to 30 takes an eternity at this time.

    Code Jackpot!!

The Vette is back and forth on the right front problem.I have to get out and adjust it about every three stops. It usually times out and throws the code. Didn't I read somewhere that someone is manufacturing the gears for the FX-3 shocks and actuators so a person would not have to buy new...
