Thanks for posting your findings! It's nice to hear how problems finish up.
At least you know now, and in case you decide to change your mind, you've
already got a solution. Good luck with the C5! :thumb

You might want to check out Dr. Don's Radio Repair

and see if they are able to do the work.............
Don't know what the cost will be though.......

Tom, do you think that there could be a "bubble of air"
trapped in the block? It sounds like a long shot to me,
but also might be worth checking. Sure as heck would
NOT be fun seeing all that work you put in, seizing up,
or warping the heads. Is there any such thing as a larger
volume water...
Outside possibility is that the radiator is partially clogged.
Maybe take it out and have it flow tested. While it's out
would also be a good time to get any "clogs" out of the fins as well.
Spinning the pump faster might help with the temps, but it could
just be a band aid as well. Maybe one or...
Tom, that's what I thought when I stumbled across the youtube video.
My initial thought was "HEY!, That might be just the thing that the convertible
drivers could use to "re-glue" their back windows to the tops, and then I
remembered this thread and decided to post. I would REALLY be curious as...
Looking at youtube for something unrelated and found this.

Maybe it'll work, and maybe it won't, but it's definitely something
you can try. You could keep building up the repair as much as necessary
and when it's done, sand off the excess where the top meets the frame or
weather seal...
And since the 97 came out at 345HP, they didn't want an
"older technology" engine to have more OOMPH than the new one.
I've heard a number of stories about the LT1, and LT4, and all of them
say that the HP numbers on both were "conservative"!

Rob, Good luck with the move! Disruptive, but necessary!
Hope you don't run into any problems, and if you do, that
they're small and easily remedied.

Have them take a new sensor, put it into another Vette, program it,
then put it into your car and try to re-program it. If it works, it's just
a work around for some other problem that needs to be addressed,
but you will have a drivable car until you can figure out what the root
cause of the...

Check out the link. I'm sure that there are others out there as well, but I believe that
Corvette Central is also a supporting member of the Corvette Action Center.

I've had one of those on my 2000 for 4 years. Take the knob with me when I leave the car in Florida and head north for the summer. I'm a snowbird, but the C5 is a Florida resident! :L I leave the car just that way for the entire 7 months or so that I'm in New England, and hook up a maintainer...
'59 Chevy Kingswood station wagon. 283 4 bbl 3 speed with overdrive. Whatta beast! Wish it would have been a Vette! THAT would have been too cool! :thumb Hope you keep it for AT LEAST another 28 years, Kane! Great story!
