How are you doin? Haven't seen many posts lately. I still think your car is one of the best looking C-3s I've ever seen. Did you see that Darin blew his engine at the track? That would suck! Gotta get back to work now but will keep in contact. Art
The battery on my 77 grounds to the frame almost right under the battery. I ran my amp ground to a hole that I drilled and tapped tight next to the battery ground. Works great.
If you're truly interested in the alloys, I've got a real nice set with steel center caps and chrome lugnuts with a set of Firestone Indy Firehawk 500s 255/60-15" that 3 have about 4000 miles and one is new. I had a pin hole in the sidewall and they replaced it. I switched to 18" rims. I'd take...
I've had the cable in my 77 out a few times. If you drop the vent duct you can reach up there and push the little clip. It's a PITA but can be done with minor swearing and a couple adult beverages!:beer
That sucks!!! I think I've got to yank out the 3.70 diff I bought about 5 months ago. It is making noise under heavy accel. Oh well, gives me something to do, right? Other than that it's great. Bought some new wheels and tires about a month ago. Love them. I'll give you a call in the near...
Not to hijack a thread, but what don't you like about the stereo? I have the USA-6 and it's great! Been in the car for a year and works perfectly.:confusedArt
Afterthought! If you ever have the front tires feel like they are going to roll off the rims sideways at 95MPH when you're cutting back in your lane after passing someone, the bandaid tires might not look so bad. Scared the **** out of me!! Almost took the steering wheel out of my hands.
No offense taken. The handling is so much better I can't believe it! It sticks to the road like glue and the steering effort is cut in half, which is good with manual rack and pinion.:beerArt
The rear tires are exactly the same diameter as the old ones. No difference on speedo. The fronts are 1 1/2" smaller because with the 255/60-15s I had a small rubbing issue in the front. I couldn't find a tire to match the rear diameter with a slightly smaller section width in the brand I...
I had two Firestone dealers tell me that the entire line of Firehawk Indy 500 tires is going bye-bye. I just took the entire set (w/only 4000 miles) off my car and replaced with 18" wheels and tires. Anyone need a set of factory alum. slots and tires? :DArt
They are 18"x8" chrome Coy C-5s with Kumho Exsta ASX 255/45-18" in the rear and 235/40x18" in the front. Even with the manual rack and pinion it steers almost like I've got power steering again. With the same rack and the 15" Firestone Firehawk 500s, parking lots weren't my friend.
