    93 - 96 Valve Cover Options

I like to find some to. They never seem to fit the LT1, having a PCV hole, or something like that. I was even thinking of painting them, but I don't think thats a good idea.

    Scale Callaway's

Very cool. Between the models and video games, looks like the next best thing to owning a Calloway!

    The Escort (Passport) SR7 Incident

Like the age survey on another tread shows, most Vette owners are older, and I think that means have a little more disposable income. We waited for our toys, now we are enjoying them. Nothing wrong with that, and salespeople know it. They are just trying to make enough money to buy there...

    Lucas Oil Stabilizer

My experence, if you have a leak, a gasket will fix it. Never found the fix in a can. The exception being a coolant leak. Most oil companys will tell you not to add anything to there oil, all the additives are in it already.

    Valvoline Instand Oil Change Warning

"hundreds" seems a huge exaggeration. He says this to make you think everyone else is incompetant. Yes, the ONE person who told you why this was done is. Fact is, most shops are flushing transmissions these days. It is the only way short of disassembly to replace all the fluid...

    Spare

eliminating spare I have removed my spare, replaced with a tire repair kit. However, does removing the spare also remove some rear end colision suport, both for the car and passengers?

    Turbo

First off you will not get 300hp from 8lbs. boost especially not with stock heads and cam. I don't recall what the 86 had but about 240 so with 8lbs if you are Lucky you could see a 125hp increase. Doesnt this add up to 365 hp???:confused

    The Escort (Passport) SR7 Incident

I can only speak for myself. #1, yes I drive fast. #2 Its my 3rd car, with a total of two drivers in the house. So I supose it is something 'extra' I have given myself. I don't throw money at it, but it's better cared for than the other 2.:lou

To 'Spare' or not to 'Spare'

I have not had a flat in 20 years, so I pulled my spare and put a repair kit in. I don't like the fix-it-flat in a can. It puts a lump of material inside the tire, which throws off the tire balance big time. But I'm second guessing removing the spare. I wonder how much in the its placement...

Can one rebuild a Nippondenso starter?

Most parts stores just want to sell more than what you need. It's becoming a lost craft rebuilding units. I enjoy taking stuff apart just to see how it works. And it feels that much better when you fixed it, rather that replace the whole unit. Well done!:rotfl

Can one rebuild a Nippondenso starter?

that's a site I will hang on to, thanks. It's great to see someone repair something today, instead of just throwing another starter in it. And a heck of a lot cheaper, so we can spend it on fun stuff, like rear tires! :lou

Can one rebuild a Nippondenso starter?

good deal! I noticed on the LT1 it looks like a straight forward job, how much time did R&R take you, and where did you get the solonoid?:beer

    Thermo fans ?

Yes, with the a/c on, the fan will run all the time. When I am in traffic, and I see the temp starting to go up, I turn the A/C on to LOWER the engine temp. It keeps it in the 200 degree range. I could spend a lot of money on coolant additives, computer chips, theromostat's, but why. Just...
