    2007 Callaway Reunion ~ Pics

Is that a C16 speedster? Or is there really a C12 speedster? Would love to see some pictures if so. :beer

    My first outing to drags

When you say "tune up" what exactly do you mean? You can leave the chip in if you are just replacing spark plugs, filters, etc. For the sticking throttle, DO NOT clean the throttle body. The secondaries have this goop around them called "dag" that will get cleaned off, and you will end up...

Holy $H!% ~ the video of all videos ended up in the mailbox today!

Yeah! Or on getting it copied? Or on letting me borrow it for a day to copy it? :ohnoes

FYI, price of R12 has apparently gone down...

I believe the demand has dropped considerably. R-134a was in most cars by the 1995 MY. I've been looking at the 1 lb cans on craigslist a bit as my car needs a recharge. I've seen them in the $10-30 range. You might stock up on a few cans of R-134a, as it will likely soon be replaced.

Name them, in YOUR order of preferance ~

The speedster would be cool, but I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable driving it a lot. So a 100+ would be the one. Of course a regular B2K would be just fine too, but hey it's a fantasy poll.

    LT4 LT4 Corvette info

If you factor in the cost of the car, 500hp at the wheels might still be within the C4's favor. 400's probably definitely favors the C4 in terms of cost. You probably have $5-10k of difference in the price of the base car to start with if you go C4 vs C5, which can buy a fair bit of power. :beer

    (CallawayOwnersGroup) ~ Site updates, etc.

I'm pretty sure a CR1 did not require the aerobody. Though I could be mistaken. But from the outside, there isn't much difference except that a ZR-1 had a wider rear than a regular Corvette (same is true with the aerobody also). It's the underhood view that leaves no doubt. Chris, I can't...

    LT4 LT4 Corvette info

I'm not sure what that means? The C4 had power ranging from 205hp to 405hp. The C5, 345hp to 405hp. The C4 had 5 different engine designations available, the C5 had two. If you mean there is more aftermarket, I'd think that's debatable. There is a lot of aftermarket for the original...

{CHMSL}I just realized my car is not the only one...

Only up through the 1990 model year. For 1991, coupes (except the ZR-1) had the CHMSL moved to the rear bumper from up on top.

    '92 ZR1 for 10k?

That's a good way to cause a high idle. :) If you clean the dag off the secondary TB bores, they will probably leak and cause a high idle. Cleaning the TBs on these cars seems unnecessary and seems to cause problems. :beer

    Need opinions fast! Please Help.....

My two cents, a $20k price and a 60k mile car, sounds like you are talking a driver, not an investment. If you were going to buy another ZR1 as an investment, would you get one with 60k miles on the clock? That said, I'd personally look at '88 or later cars because they were more powerful...

...while out pumping gas tonight, I realized this:

Nice, premium is still about $3.05 here in Leesburg. It usually doesn't cost me more than $50, but that's also because my gas gauge gets nervous, I usually end up only putting in 15-17 gallons.

    Help with tune up

I believe the OEM coil packs have the cylinders numbered on them. So that or checking the factory service manual would be the way to check the firing order. While you have the plenum off, you may want to check the injector resistances, though I don't think the '93+ injectors tend to go bad...

    1990 Callaway and ZR-1 Review

but a '90 Z wouldn't have center caps. Looked like '89 wheels to me.

awesome! They said the Z was production, but the rear wheel looked like an '89?

I don't know if there is a Callaway Corvette in this garage or not, but thought it...

I got to see his garage once, though it was a couple of years ago so I'm sure the contents have changed some. He only had a C5 Z06 that had a bunch of work done by Wheel 2 Wheel. It was yellow with a lot of body stuff on it. No older 'vettes. I believe he has a new Z06 though now. I also...

    Need help pulling plenum...!!!

If it's never been off, it will be stuck pretty good. Pull up on the airhorn to get it going. Just be careful because things are connected to the bottom of it, so don't yank it way off. You could also probably put a block of wood on the side and hit it to try to break the seal with shear...
