I am posting this in aftermarket, and C4 sections.
1) Does anyone have a convertible top replacement video they would be willing to share. If so e-mail me. I would be more than happy to share your cost of the video and pay shipping of course.
2) Are there any manufacturers of replacement tops...
The heat shields that cover the stock headers on my L98 are missing. They were not on when I got the car.
Is there anything that can be applied to the stock headers to make them look better? When I raise the hood for show and shine the headers look awfull.
One more thing. Has the car had a good tune up? New plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Fuel filter, PCV, timing check, and finally adjust the TPS. Give the throttle body a good cleaning also. If this stuff is original replacing it will net a major improvement in performance.
I bought my first Vett last year, an 88 4+3. Since then I have been following a lot of advice I have seen offered on the net. My car had a Hypertech chip in it when I got it so I cant say how much improvement there was. I have heard a lot of complaints about Hypertech from serious hot rodders...
Hi guys, I am putting in my .02. I have an 88 4+3 with the hypertech chip. It was in there with a 160 stat when I bought the car last year. We live in northwest Indiana, only gets real hot in the middle of summer around here. The rest of the year is comfortable to cold. My engine temp ran about...
As far as I know it is the original 3:07 gear.
It hapens in any gear. Give it some gas and let up and you can hear a slapping noise. I noticed it one day lugging the engine in 1st gear at very low speed, the car would lurch back and forth like there is a lot of play in drive train?
I dont know if this will help your problem. Some people who get an extreme amount of resonance can reduce it by installing a crossover pipe as close to the mufflers as possible without blocking access to the spare tire. This has helped othere reduce the resonance. Any good muffler shop should be...
Hi Claborn. Congrats on the Ruby. Front end shake like your describing could be several things. Some serious, some not. You dont say how many miles? You should do a thourough front end check. Tierods, ball joints, or wheel bearings, if they are very worn may cause the same symptom. You should...
My 88 with the 4+3 has a problem I need help trying to figure out.
The engine has this hesitation when the throttle is opened. The engine will just bog a bit (and sometimes backfire through the intake when cold) before the RPM start to rise. Its kind of anoying.
The 4+3 overdrive is supposed...
Hi guys, I am new to this forum. I pulled both my valve covers off my 88 and repainted, re installed on a Saturday. It was a PITA but well worth the effort. The gaskets seem to give me a little trouble staying in place. But all is well now.
I could kept it off by pushing the button. Then it will stay off till the button is pushed again. I normally I let it come in by itself as I shift to second. For normal in town driving I let first wind out a little long then go to second with overdrive. the next shift could be third if traffic...
My switch was leaking fluid, I got a new one from the local Chevy dealer. I did have it bypassed for a while on my 88. I did not like that. With it bypassed the OD would engage in first gear just like an auto shifting to second. I feel this put to much wear and tear on the OD unit. I like to let...
You will need to wiggle tool in to the latch and slide the release lever over on the side that is broken. After you get it open lube the latch mechanism with some lithium door grease. It will open and close much easier with fresh lube.
Good luck
