Sounds like you're on the right track. Might also try some dry gas additive and/or fuel injection cleaners. There might have been some moisture in the tank. Don't know how long it was in storage but it doesn't take much to gum things up. Best of luck By the way nice choice of year and color...

Has anyone attended Gordon Killebrew's C-4 school near Bowling Green? We've attended his seminars at Carlisle. He and his wife seem like truly decent folks and he certainly possesses a great deal of knowledge about C-4 and it's history.

Thanks - The wiring is certainly an option. I think I'll try jumper wires from one side to the other in the rear and by pass the original wires That should prove it one way or the other

Before you pull it all apart or have someone else do it try a bottle of Barrs' stop leak. It's great suff and if the leak is small it should stop. :)
