Thanks for the responses - I wasn't intending on waxing the first weekend but I do want to get something on the surface to protect the paint from the acid rain and junk that seems to come down in these parts.
We pick our new 2004 torch red coupe this Friday. I'm looking for ideas as to what and what not to do as far as polishing and waxing the new surface. I've used McGuires products for many years and have generally been pleased with the results. The car will live in the garage when not on the...
I have the same problem only it's with two speakers - front right and rear left. I can hear the sound from the radio but the hum will drive you nuts. I replaced speakers and amps but nothing changed. I finally disconnected the two. Someone suggested that it might be a wiring problem as in a worn...
I agree with what Skant says. My 85 does exactly that. It's scary to see those high temps but it's just what the book says it's supposed to do. I installed a fan override switch after participating in a summer parade a couple years ago. Allows the prmary fan to run prior to being called for...
If the vette has solved the midlife crisis I was having and didn't know it .......well so be it. I'm certainly not having any crisis now. Two years ago we stayed at a motel outside of Carlisle which was full of youth soccer teams (minivans) and about six corvettes. I wish I had a picture of look...
Thanks for the response Ken. The more I looked at it the simpler it got. It's really not much different than my 85 ElCamino. Just a lot more intimidating
Getting my 1985 ready for summer. Plugs, distributer cap, rotor, plug wires and coil. I've done this before on other chevys but never the vette. After I removed the shield from the back of the TPI unit I noticed that the distrubuter is partly tucked under the cowl. Are there any tricks to...
Sounds like you're on the right track. Might also try some dry gas additive and/or fuel injection cleaners. There might have been some moisture in the tank. Don't know how long it was in storage but it doesn't take much to gum things up. Best of luck
By the way nice choice of year and color...
Really depends on what you want to do - Aggressive driving needs aggressive suspension. It all comes down to what you want to spend. However for the money it's hard to beat the KYB gas units. Summit probably does have the best price and they can deliver in a couple days. I just installed at set...
Has anyone attended Gordon Killebrew's C-4 school near Bowling Green?
We've attended his seminars at Carlisle. He and his wife seem like truly decent folks and he certainly possesses a great deal of knowledge about C-4 and it's history.
Thanks - The wiring is certainly an option. I think I'll try jumper wires from one side to the other in the rear and by pass the original wires That should prove it one way or the other
I know this is not a fun subject but...............is is possible that a faulty speaker relay could have different affects on different speakers? I have a 1985 coupe. Two of the speakers (front left and rear right) work fine. the other two work but have a static sound. I've changed the speakers...
