What started out as feeling a pulsing of the brake peddle as I came to a complete stop is now a definite clunk, clunk, clunk. So I don't think it is a rotor runout issue any more. Wheel bearing? U joint? Put it up on stands and push/pull on the wheel? Look around under the back? ;help...
Braking
I agree with C4Cruiser as far as the need for DOT 4. My experience with autocross ( one day ) is that you use your brakes minimally. In fact , the pro who walked us around the track made the statement that we should use our brakes as little as possible. The brakes slow down the car...
I beleive Vetteracer is correct. On the first C4s, there was a brass gear instead of the nylon bushings. This gear is avaialble in the catalogues. The repairs should be similar. Can anyone else confirm? ;shrug
Relax, Speed
Paul (C4C5 specialist) is a highly valued and well respected member of the CAC. He has been a speaker at Cruisefests and while there has been known to "participate in" (read perform) parking lot repairs for Cruisefesters. I have met Paul and can guarantee you that there was no...
Hey Mile Hi Brother!
:w Hi Joe. Congrats on the new C4. :upthumbs 90 is my favorite year. L98 with analog dash. Whereabouts in Denver are you? I live south central. Platt Park. Be glad to get togeher with you to talk Vettes and show you some of the things I have done to mine. No mods...
Don't Care! Ain't Sellin'!
I Love My Vette! :D It is a reward for hard work. I waited for years. When my kids were younger I bought a 1970 Malibu convertible. It was a compromise from a Vette because it would hold all five of us. I wrenched on that thing for ten years and then two...
Learning Curve - A New Thread?
Went out last Saturday night for a little Corvette therapy and ran my detector. There is a section in the manual about " interpretation" of alerts and I can see why. It probably alerted 10 times in 100 miles. Six of those times I saw the LEO responsible but was...
Uuhh. Swapped wires? ;shrug I assume that the one which was left in the car works correctly? Not sure what was rebulit. Did they actually install a new drive motor? If so, THEY may have switched the wires, not you. :D
Bill - WAY Cool! One day you can pass on the Vette to Zach and he can take it over 500K miles!:W
Tom - Oh Well. ;shrug Now you can drive her with more confidence. :upthumbs
A Beltronics Review
Just purchased the Beltronics 65 as reviewed on Radarbusters. Bought it for a trip to Kentucky around Memeorial day. I've never used one but if the thread is still around when the trip is over I'll post a review from a novice.
Sometimes we get lucky
Hi Bill. Last spring, my baby developed a noise that I eventually determined was the bearing going out on the water pump. The weekend after I went on an 80 mile fun run up 285, I pulled her out of the garage and parked out on the street so I could use the garage to...
Congrats!
Way to go, Cool! :cool Hope you drew no blood. This job appears to be quite an accomplishment. You should take pride in a job well done. Then, do some math with the time it took you divided by 2, times the shop rate of your mechanic. That should put a smile on your face.:D
Congrats!
Same for me last week. Short trip. Just eneough to run through a couple of my favorite CDs. Hadn't had her out of the garage since before Christmas. :W I don't know how the guys & gals in the north country can go all winter without these " therapy sessions".
