    Vette got backed into

WHEW! Looks like this turned out well except for the obligatory elevated blood pressure when it occurred.:mad I try to be careful where I park but I still sometimes am forced into parking where I would prefer not to and or leaving the thing for a few hours. Rockies ballgames come to mind...

I had a seat idea to fix wear and it worked!

Works on an 89 I did this small project on mine as well. It is described in the book, "101 Projects for your C4". I removed the seats entirely. Gave me the opportunity to really clean the carpet underneath "while I was there". Swapped the cushions and covers to move the worn out spot on...

    Bottom feeder cleaning

Benefit? I did this task last September before a trip to Arizona. There was crap in between the radiator and condenser coil a good 3 inches deep. paper, leaves, pine needles. I wasn't having problems; had just read that it was a good thing to do. The car did great on the trip but I don't...

    Can't Open My Hood!!!

Hood Opening Tool Went to the geocities site and printed off the instructions for making this tool. Made one out of 1/4 diameter steel bar bar stock. It works :D but I strongly recommend that if you make the effort to have one of these things also make the effort to figure out how to use it...

    Hood Emblem....HELP!!!

When I replaced on my 89, the old was attached with the aforementioned speednuts. I re-used them. No two sided tape.

    Rear Hatch Louver

No Louvers Decided against the louvers. I already knew of a company that makes them new but they cost $269. Also, it's a three piece set up and I'm not convinced that it will provide good visibility. I will go with tint as long as I can find a pre-cut piece from 3M.

    Procharger Install

Magazine Article The article is in the May 2005 issue of GM High Tech Performance on page 12. I don't have the magazine. I read it at my local Vette Specialist - Corvette Connection while they were installing a used set of ZR-1 wheels and Goodyear tires on my car. I called them and asked for...

Still not sure what to do about buying 89 Vette

Yeah, just buy it! You don't mention price but I assume with the problems you mention it shold be low. Maybe you will need to do pistons and rings. Superchargers can be rebuilt. Injectors can be cleaned. All the pieces parts are there for a blown car. When you add in the sentimental value...

    Procharger Install

Procharger No personal experience but I just read an article I think in GM High Tech Performance about a guy in Nevada who runs 170 MPH in the road races out there with an intercooled Procharger and no block mods. Its got over 100K miles on it.

    Rear Hatch Louver

I just bought a set of chrome ZR-1 wheels with Goodyear GS-Cs. Man, those things really pop!:D My question though is about louvers for the rear hatch. I searched the site and have done a search on the WEB and come up with very little. Anybody have any info on a manufacturer/supplier? Who...

    I Needed Therapy

Winter Storage? I can't imagine putting her up for the whole winter. We get snow around here but there are still plenty or opportunities to remove the cover and let the horses run!

    C4 Outside temp

Cold Air Temp Boost I know what you mean. I don't drive mine daily but I definitely don't put it away for the winter. Got to experience the noticiable performance increase with that cold intake air!

800 miles to Chicago- should i worry?

AAA is cheap isurance A AAA membership would eliminate the possibility of being extorted by the tow truck operator. Although, if it happens I would like to see a picture of you, your girlfriend, your furry co-pilot and the tow truck driver in the cab of his truck!

    a/c and cigarette lighter question

Heater cores are bad mojo! Don't understand exactly how you would get white powder from a heater core going bad. In my experience you get steam on the inside of the windshield and water on the floorbaords. There has been a magaizine article posted here which descirbes the replacement and then...

    1989 wheel cover lock bolt

Me Too! I have the same problem on the driver's side rear wheel. Tried the push-real-hard-on-the-tool-while-you-turn method after PB blaster. No luck. Guess its time for the screwdriver or drill approach and then replace with a hex head. Some of the mail order houses sell complete wheel...

    Denver to Albuquerque

Grand Touring Hey FB REF! I went through the same stretch a couple of weeks ago. Drove done to Phoenix to play baseball. Got a ticket just west of Pagosa Springs. Drove to Tucson from Phoenix and then back to Denver through ALB and Santa Fe. 2379 miles round trip and not the first hint of...

    Window seals

Go for It! The above referenced article is informative. The second side will take 1/3 as much time as the first. Patience with the door lock switch.
