Yeah, no production ZR-1s were ever made (a) as convertibles or (b) with automatic transmissions. There was a prototype (or I guess it was a custom job) convertible that I've seen in the National Corvette Museum, however... Also, there apparently was a true prototype featured here.

I believe so. Either that, or they are reprinting the same content that's in the factory manuals. In any case, it's obviously GM's official info. And there's about 4000+ pages of it! Good resource for $120 (or less if you find them on eBay).

I would think that it would look a little funny if it worked at all. But, I'm no tire/wheel expert. It's just that the Z06 wheels are an inch wider, and I can't see your stock coupe tires fitting properly...
