    How to strip paint

Go to an auto parts place and ask for fiberglass stripper. For original (lacquer) paint, it works pretty slick. My car was repainted before, and I think they used Imron - stripper didn't touch it. I ended up using a razor blade. There was also a really heavy primer of some kind, I think they...

Help! Is this 1973 worth 4K

Amen, brother! If the car needs paint, is it worth more with bad paint than NO paint? I didn't think so either. That would probably be the last thing the buyer of that car does anyway. By the time you would have it ready to be painted, you would have someone in mind who would do a good job...

    Stingray Badge

I saw a later C3 at a car show that had a 'Stingray' emblem screwed onto the headlight door, now that was tacky!! When I got my car painted, I put a new rear bumper on it (flex-fit) and it didn't have holes for the 'Corvette' script, and the badge I had didn't look the greatest, so I left it...

    81 Horns Physical Locations?

My horns are to the extreme outside of the underhood area, which is to say they aren't under the hood. Reach under the hood opening to the outside on each side, on the front of the radiator support. That's where mine are located, I'm pretty sure the one was original. After I replaced the one, I...

    Opinions wanted

Ken, It doesn't really sound like much of a dilemma to me. Do you enjoy the car as it is? If you put more HP in it than it can handle, you risk everything else being subpar. I know there's quite a contingent here that will recommend the 'ZZwhatever' and the 'BTO whatever' If you change all that...

    Drivetrain Alignment

Hey Bill, Mine does that too, I have a (at least one) bent wheel. Have you had it aligned recently or had your tires balanced?

    CE replacement engine question

Actually, they were probably the last of the double humps. 461's and 291's are older than those, some by a decade. Craig

    CE replacement engine question

I've got the same block in my garage for a future project, with CE180676 on the stamp pad. Date code is I 13 0 on the Pass. side rear flange. When I bought the block eons ago, the guy told me it was a factory replacement for a '70 Nova, I believe. He must've been hell on engines, as this block...

For those interested in spark plugs-

What I really found interesting, is that a big block and small block take the same plug. Having never owned or worked on a BB, I would have thought they'd be different plugs. I prefer the regular AC's just like the factory uses. I never cared for Champions, I've had them go bad overnight. I even...

I give up. I must be stupid. Need help. Can't get this motor tuned to save my life.

Do you have a fuel filter? It sounds like a clogging issue. Sorry if you covered it and I missed it. . . but that's how they act. Craig

    Cradle for a 4 speed?

Could you use an engine stand, with the 4 speed bolted to the bell housing? The main case doesn't come apart, does it? If it just has a side plate and the tail comes off, you could probably use an engine stand that way, right? I haven't had one in years, just trying to remember how they are. Craig

FWIW, Willcox's seats ARE from Corvette America - mine were leather/vinyl mounted on new foam, $549 delivered, last year. Craig

    How do you do it?

Not necessarily a good thing here in 'hillbilly heaven' most expensive vehicle will be a 'land yacht' of some kind that will probably scrape your roof when they open the door and use it for a step to get out of theirs. The Mrs. tells me to park next to a 4-door, as they have shorter doors. (like...

    How do you do it?

Randy, I let my wife shoehorn me into a four-door twice (no kids, no friends - WTH for!!) I finally went to a car lot ALONE and came home with a two-door. Since then I've bought two more, so now I have six doors altogether. If you gotta have the C6, get it and keep an eye out for another C3...

    How to adjust for WOT?

WIDE OPEN THROTTLE C3 4ME, If your pedal is pegged and the carb isn't all the way open, I would think you need to adjust (bend) the pedal rod so it has more travel. Any other 'adjustment' to linkage/cable would probably also affect the idle. Just my opinion. Craig
