Question: How to clean the engine of 96?

Here’s a link to a thread that talks about a few products to help clean under the hood. (My Photobucket account needs attention because my engine compartment images are no longer showing up.) http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/care-detailing/95366-how-i-detailed-my-engine-bay.html To...

(Picture Thread) Show your C4 to the world!

I see a ‘91 Turquoise Metallic/black-top convertible (during the warm months) almost every morning in traffic. Turns my head no matter how many times I’ve seen it. Owner takes good care of it, always shined, the stock exhaust is even detailed. Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor...

    Heart of the Beast...

I’ve been wanting to read Anthony Young’s Heart of the Beast for the longest time. Was worried that I wouldn’t be able to locate one since it was published a while ago. There were 5 new/6 used books on Amazon.com. Since the book is going to be part of my permanent Corvette library :D, I ordered...

    LT4 ZR1 Mufflers on my 1996 LT4

The crossover on the OEM LT4 exhaust is literally inches ahead of the rear differential. I tried doing a search so I could post a photo but couldn’t find one. B17Crew :w

    LT4 ZR1 Mufflers on my 1996 LT4

Thanks, Hib! I have yet to come across anything from GM as to why they added it, I was figuring it was for resonance as well. B17Crew :w

    LT4 ZR1 Mufflers on my 1996 LT4

Hi Hib. I think the the LT4 exhaust is unique because it has a crossover/balance tube. This crossover is just ahead of the differential on the exhaust system. I can’t seem to find any photos or data to share or why it was added. I just recall an article sometime back mentioning the crossover...

    29.5 mpg!

I will be between 16 to 18 in town with my ’96. I can’t recall ever doing better than 18 in town. B17Crew :w

    29.5 mpg!

The Keystone State is a beautiful state to drive through! 33.75 mpg is incredible, I’ve always been amazed at how good the gas milage is with the LT series cars. I was wondering the same thing about the C6, they must get great mileage with their lower mass and improved aero. I would expect the...

    29.5 mpg!

When the LT series engines are equipped with the 6 speed, they can get great gas mileage. My best mileage was on a trip from Columbus, Ohio to eastern Pennsylvania. Trip computer average at the end of my drive was 32 mpg. I was carrying one duffle bag with my clothes and only my self in the...

Advice on ’96 ZF clutch needed...

I wanted to report back to everyone on the outcome of the problem I was having with the “clicks” and “clunks” with my ’96. I took my ’96 to Corvette Care, Inc. They’ve repeatedly been listed in Corvette Fever’s annual “100 repair shops you can trust.” Lloyd Harvey, the owner, is knowledgeable...

Advice on ’96 ZF clutch needed...

In July, I replaced the clutch fluid. I used a syringe to withdrawal the fluid from the clutch master cylinder. I used GMs clutch fluid that I purchased from the local Chevy dealer. The fluid seems to be clean, it is currently a reddish-brown. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to look over the...
