    Daily Driver

That explains it. Well it looks nice indeed. I love the sleek look of the C4. Nice wheels too. :upthumbs I got mine back in '03 with just 31k miles on it. But the previous owner was an older lady and she really beat up the body! She could not see out of the car very well and must have hit...

    Daily Driver

Wow! I am impressed! :thumb Okay. I gotta ask: is that the original paint? It looks very good for a car with that many miles. Most C4's I see being driven are beat up. The front spoiler that likes to scoop up every driveway there is seems to be the first to get destroyed. I've seen...

    I guess u guys have a garage?

Not to make you feel bad or anything..... I have a garage....in SoCal.....and my C4 sits in it most of the time. :D I did drive her in the rain all week long. But no snow.

Is that with original motor? Do you have pictures of your Corvette? I have seen one in a magazine with 330k miles on it. It was a 1986 I think. It was beat up inside and out but it was still running and even attended Corvette meets across the country.

    How Many More Miles Till

I've tried the rest, then I tried the best. It's Corsa Exhaust for my 'Vette. Quiet at idle and cruise, loud at WOT. No droning, nothing, nada, zero. And and all exhaust system for the C4 with dual outlet exhaust will drone.

    Engine/Coolant Temperature Sensor

I resurrected this thread to tell you guys what happened and maybe some will learn a valuable lesson like I did. I originally posted this thread back in 2004 right after I got my Corvette back from the Chevy dealership for a tune up and spark plug replacement. Being naive and not willing to...

Coolant Leak in Cylinder Heads! Correct Diagnosis?

Okay so drove my C4 for 7 days straight. Back and forth to work, running errands, then drove it all over the place over the weekend, even in the rain! Then on Sunday I went to check the coolant level after topping it up 7 days before. The coolant level was normal. Whew! All is good...

    Rattling In Engine Compartment

It is an automatic. The rattling occurs after the car warms up to temperature, and only when it is in gear at idle. So it happens when I stop at a signal light, or I am backing up. As soon as I put the engine in Neutral, the rattle stops because I'm thinking the frequency does not make the...

    Rattling In Engine Compartment

There is a strange rattling noise inside the engine compartment of my Corvette that is present only when the engine warms up, it is at idle and in gear. It sounds like it's coming from the right side of the engine compartment. I tried tracking it down by popping the hood, letting the engine warm...

    Jumped a curbed today

How did your front spoiler survive? My '91 front spoiler can't even handle those parking lot dividers! SoCal is a traffic nightmare at rush hour, an Autobhan when there is no traffice. Ok well, the latter is an exhageration. It's still a traffic nightmare though. Too many freakin'...

Coolant Leak in Cylinder Heads! Correct Diagnosis?

That's what I'm thinking too. How can all 8 be moist at the threads? In any case, my reservoir cap and the reservoir itself is pretty worn and the cap fits somewhat loose. It is afterall 18 years old! It feels like I can easily pull the reservoir cap without twisting it. I'm driving...

Coolant Leak in Cylinder Heads! Correct Diagnosis?

Okay just got back from driving the 'Vette. I checked the oil, twice. It is clean as can be. Unfortunately, I checked the reservoir and the coolant level was low. Crap! I had to add about 6 cups! Not a good sign. I guess I now move on to pressure checking it. The car was running nice...

Coolant Leak in Cylinder Heads! Correct Diagnosis?

Hib, none of those things are occuring or have been occuring, ever. I'm just still worried about the moisture on the spark plug threads. All of them, at least the 7 I was able to replace had them. However, the plug electrodes and the all of the area that went into the combustion chamber were...

Coolant Leak in Cylinder Heads! Correct Diagnosis?

Thanks guys. I will try removing the backsplash to get to that pesky spark plug. It boggles my mind how difficult it is to change spark plugs on a longtitudinally mounted V8 engine with a clamshell hood. Theoretically, it should be a piece of cake. What were GM's engineers thinking? JR...

Coolant Leak in Cylinder Heads! Correct Diagnosis?

I need to know what is really going on with my Corvette. In 2008 my '91 L98 Corvette began idling rough a day after a long drive. It felt like the car had a vacuum leak at idle. It would also surge at small throttle openings. At 35k miles, back in 2003 I had the car tuned up by the dealership...

    New Exhaust

The ONLY C4 exhaust that does NOT resonate is the OEM and the Corsa exhaust. Both have one thing in common: only ONE of the exhaust tips per muffler work...the other one is a dummy. I have the Corsa on my L98 and it is exactly what they advertise it to be. Quiet at idle and cruise, sounds...

    Rough Idle/Surging - FIXED!

When I went there, they had equal numbers of Vettes and Stangs. They also do Chrysler. Hell! They were doing work on a Saturn and Jeep (tune up). They do everything and they have to in order to survive in that industry. Tuning only Mustangs won't last very long.

Final thoughts on changing old auto tranny fluid...destroys tranny or not?!?!

I have heard and read two sides to this coin. Doing a total flush on an autobox with many miles and never had the fluids replaced can lead to tranny failure because the flush will agitate and circulate the crap that's in the tranny and clog the passageways and tranny ultimately fails...

    Rough Idle/Surging - FIXED!

GRC Performance: http://http://www.grcperformance.com/default.cfm They're located in south Orange County, CA. The owner/operator also does the work. They have a dyno and do full service work including high performance upgrades, crate motor swaps, you name it.

    Rough Idle/Surging - FIXED!

I'll have the pressure test done as soon as possible. However, at this point the car is purring like a kitten. The stumbling at idle and the surging at low speed and small throttle openings are completely gone. Both of these were what got me to take the car to get checked anyway. I'll...
